Description of Work: I called AC Auto because they could handle what I needed done (power steering cooler replacement) and their proximity to my home. I chose them because of reviews on Angie's List. | |I thought the cost of the fix was a smidge high, especially since I could have done it myself. However, they more than made up for the cost with everything else. | | - They listened attentively throughout the entire process (as a woman, I am used to being dismissed by auto mechanics and in auto parts stores, although it's better than it used to be). | - Their front sitting area was immaculate. | - The owner has a window directly into both the sitting area and the shop at all times and is available for questions from customers and staff alike. He was friendly and responsive during all of my contact. He listened in on conversations and started my parts hunt before my conversation with the mechanic was over. | - The shop is nearly as immaculate as the sitting area. Everything is clean and tidy. Customers are welcome. | - I was invited to go into the shop and stand under my van while the mechanic showed me exactly where the problem was, what would be required to fix it, and what parts exactly were involved. | - I was given a ride home while they worked on my van, and a ride back when they were done. Both drivers (different gentleman each time) were well-mannered and well-spoken. Both were inclined to opening doors for their passengers; I don't think I touched very many doors while I was at the shop! | - When I arrived to pick my van up, they had it ready for me. When I requested to see their work, they were eager to put my van back on the lift and show me exactly what had been done. The new parts were precisely as they told me they would be before the process started. | - They advised me of future work that might need to be done, but that what had been done would solve most of my problem and that the perhaps-future work might not be financially wise (considering the mileage on my van). They did not try to up-sell me at all, but gave me information that would help me make my own decision. | |While it would certainly have been cheaper to do the work myself (as is nearly everything), it was very much worth the service and convenience to pay the labor. I would definitely use them the next time circumstances prevented me from making the repair.
