At first, all seemed ok - the roof loked pretty good, although several plantings around the house had been trampled and/or broken. Then the window cleaners came on 5/4 and were unable to get the chemicals off our windows that abut the roof and were splattered with chemical. Also, by this time a number of plantings around the house were browning out and dying because they had not been rinsed off as they should have been during the cleaning.
I called Mr. Green and he came over to have a look. He apologized for the damage to the plantings but never offered any compensation and looked at the windows. He said that "yeah, that's our stuff on the windows, but I can clean it off" and agreed to come back Monday to do so. He also stated that the crew he left here to do the work was "inexperienced and obviously not ready to have been left unsupervised" since they should have rinsed the windows and plants.
Mr. Green came back Monday with a helper and tried to clean the windows. Even though he got the chemicals off, the windows looked very bad because the glass had been etched and it couldn't be cleaned off so he left to talk to the window supplier to see if they had any ideas. Since then I have had the window supplier come out and look at the windows and he agrees they are etched and need to be replaced at a cost of $2148 plus painting.
Right after that, Mr. Green changed his story to "my chemicals could not have caused the damage" (if that's so, why are the only windows in my house that are etched the ones that were sprayed with the splatter of his chemicals, then left to bake in the sun for 5 days, and why does the etching exactly match the splatter pattern?). I've asked for his insurance information and have never gotten it. He does not return my calls or emails. I tried to visit his "office" and it is a post box in a UPS store.
So, buyer beware - his satisfaction guarantee is worthless, insurance is not provided, and his ultimate response to a serious problem is to walk away and hide.
