They were excellent and they really cleaned up after they were done. I would highly recommend them and I would hire them again.

All of the work was done professionally with attention to detail. I’m a perfectionist myself and i’m very satisfied with their work.

Kenny, the company owner came to the house to measure the openings. My home is 35 years old and NOTHING is square or plumb! The old outside door under the carport was so warped that I could no longer open it. My husband and I was VERY particular about our wants and needs regarding our doors. I wanted steel doors, as wood warps too easily. I wanted smooth surface doors with no windows. My husband wanted a special deadbolt system, which I am unable to describe! I also wanted single hung storm doors that had screens installed and reinforced kick panel. This would allow my little dog to look out with extra safety. As ridiculous as this sounds, even to me, Kenny had the perfect solution! The doors have been installed for over a year and they still work as smoothly and efficiently as when they were initially installed.

I have not had any luck replacing doors in this house. I keep buying doors in big box stores and hiring contractors/handymen to install them. The work is never satisfactory and never lasts more than 7 years. I told my husband that this time were were going to hire a local company that specialized in windows and doors. Kenny came within a couple of days of my call to measure and find out what I wanted. Now here is where it gets a little tricky. I wanted steel doors instead of wood because the wood doors warp and swell so terribly in this southern climate. My husband is a P.E. (engineer) and has some very definite ideas on security, installation, screw length, dead bolts and their installation, and a security plate set behind the studs. He seems to be afraid that someone may be able to kick in the door during a home invasion. This is a 20 gauge steel door with 2 locks, a peep hole, and no windows. No windows was my choice. I just end up hanging a curtain for privacy. Not to be outdone, I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and two cats who like to look out of the door. I wanted storm doors that were glass at the bottom to protect the pets, but could easily convert to screen on top to allow for ventilation. Kenny did not even crack a smile. He measured my dog's height and found the exact storm door that I needed. Kenny's wife, Blanca, is the office manager and work scheduler. We did most of our communication by email which was my choice, however, she always replied within the hour. She was a pleasure to work with. I know my husband's demands (complete with hand drawn blueprints) made her a little nervous, but she never got annoyed. Kenco sent me a crew of two men to install the four doors. They started early and worked hard, but quit early. They explained and I agreed, that they could not get the second door completed by nightfall and did not want to start a job like replacing a door unless they could guarantee completion by day's end. They worked for the longest time on the front entry door as my house is neither square nor plumb, but the door was up and appeared to be in perfect working order. I asked my husband what was the problem. He replied, "The hinge is squeaking and he keeps adjusting the hinges and balance to find the squeak!" The only reason I gave Kenco a B in cost is that this is not a cheap product nor a cheap project. I will say they get an A++ in terms of getting what you pay for. Kenco carries Provia doors which are custom made in the factory with your choice of color fused into the steel so that you need never paint it.

I called three contractors.  One, a big commercial roofing company - their residential estimator was on vacation, but called a week later.  One, a contractor I had used before for a roof repair, did not call me for over a week - stating he had been busy. I had already made a decision before he called.

Kenco came over the next day.  Kenny reviewed the situation, reviewed the brands and types of shingles he carried, and what he suggested, but did not push what should be chosen.  Gave me a ballpark cost on the spot.  Emailed me an official estimate using the two shingle types I was interested in, the next morning.  Actual cost would be determined by how many pieces of sheeting needed to be replaced, which could not be determined until the old shingles were removed.  He listed the cost of replacement of the rotted sheeting, by piece.  I told him I wanted to wait to see what the other contractor quoted - once he got back from vacation.  No pressure to make a decision on the spot.  He told me that there would no doubt be others who would quote lower, but he felt that his price was fair - turns out it was.

When I finally got the other estimator to come over, I specified the exact brand of shingles I wanted, and other associated items, so that they matched exactly the estimate I already had from Kenny.  When I the other estimate came (hand written) it was $5,000 higher.  So, I went with Kenco.

My roof has a 12/12 pitch and quite a number of valleys so it took a lot of shingles.  I chose the shingles that used the 3M Scotchgard aggregate that includes a lot of copper to prevent the black streaks.  They are 100% guaranteed to prevent the streaks for 20 years and then on a prorated basis after that.  Only two companies use this, and only one sells in NC.  They cost more but I felt it was worth it.  The choice was mine.  Kenny did not try to pressure me to pick the shingles he recommended - although that is what I chose.

Once we agreed on moving forward and scheduled a start date, they arrived right on time and worked non-stop for two days.  Everything was cleaned up when they left.  I had just had all new landscaping put in, but nothing was damaged.

I am now planning to have Kenco replace my windows.

Great experience.
Selected window style at the office of KENCO with Blanca. Determined price of window and approximate date of installation.
I selected a 3 pane panel window, that had a small curvature in appearance.
The installation was a and quot;one manand quot; show. This man took great pride in the installation of this window. The new window was quite differenct from the one that he had to remove. This was an approximate 28 year old window that was being removed. I happened to be at home when the installation was being done.It was remakable to watch this contractor prm the window preciclely and check and recheck the frame before installation of the window fram itself.
The window is absolutely beautiful. Perfect job. I am so very please with appearance from the inside and from the outside. I have had several positive comments from other homeowners about the window, and feel they will be following with the same window in the near future. Installation was perfect. No problems at all. Couldn't expect any better.
Would reccomend to anyone to use KENCO

We could not have ask for anything better. From the initial contact at the office regarding suggested quality of the door. An estimate of the cost for the doors was received in a very timely manner. It was explained approxiamtely how long before installation would begin, and the begining date was within just a few days of what was estimated.
The actual installation of the doors ened up taking longer than what was expected, however, the doors that were being replaced were approximatley 28 years old, and were the original doors at the time the Condos were built. The door frames were very out of square, and each door had to have specific work done to assure each frame was square and that the new door fit snug and properly. The vinyl had to be removed and new vinyl had to be installed for each door of these Condos. Each door was different, and required a completely different repare to make it square.
The workmanship was nothing less than perfect everyone. The installer was a and quot;one man showand quot;, and he took pride in his workmanship. Each door was done to his perfection before he started another door. There was no and quot;rushand quot; job done on this project. How ever long it took to complete this project is just how long it was going to take. It was his intent to do it to the best quality work to his ability, and folks, he has tremendous abilities.
The doors are perfect. They fit tighly, and you do not see any light around the frames from the inside at all. You could not ask for any better quality of door and installation.
The people in the office, I primarily dealt with Blanca, are so easy to work with and will answer any of your questions or concerns promptly.
I would reccomend them to anyone. This company has done work for me personally as well. You can read my reviews under windows.

Kenco's team, the owner Mr. Stokes and his wife, Mrs. Stokes and their crew are of the utmost highest professionalism and trustworthiness. The field team carpenters were polite, respectful and some of the hardest working and skilled people we have ever met. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the results. We have, quite literally, a brand new house and thank the Stokes for providing such high calibre product in the Wilson, NC area. We can unequivocally, recommend them to anyone else who needs any home exterior remodeling. We understand that they also provide new roofs and that will be our 2014 project with them.
