Blako Plumbing

Blako Plumbing charged my mom who is 82 years old and lives by herself, $4500 for the work they did. The owner (Greg) had my mom write him 2 separate checks, one personal for $2000 and another to the company for $2500. Of course he took the $2000 check directly to the bank and cashed it. Fortunately my mother was able to stop payment on the $2500 check. We had 2 separate independent plumbing companies come out and give us an estimate for the work provided. One estimate was for $450 and the other was for $395. Blako CHARGED MY MOM $4500!! After contacting the NC State Board of Examiners Of Plumbing, NC Department Of Justice Consumer Complaints, The Better Business Bureau, and Local Plumbing Inspection we told Blako that we would seek legal action if the money they took from our mom was not returned. After putting this in writing and sending via certified mail to Blako Plumbing a check for $2000 appeared in our mom's mailbox. No argument or nothing about the canceled check for $2500 or the $2000 refund. It's blatantly obvious what they were trying to do. They tried to take advantage of a 82yr old widow living by herself. You can't get much lower than that.
Anyone that has had work done by this company and had any doubts about the price of the bill please contact another plumbing company before you get taken. If they tried this once, then there is no telling how many other times they might have actually gotten away with it.

He came and stayed for 5 mins. Charged full amount for hour because of travel and supplies. Confirmed that if I had anymore issues I could call him to come back by. He said he stood behind his work 100%. Called him the next day that the toilet was doing the same thing, said he was out of town but would come the following Monday. Two Mondays have gone by and he has not returned the call nor come by the house. DO NOT RECOMMEND! I ended up paying another $85 to have someone else do the work right.

Blake seemed to take pride in doing a good job and always showed up as promised. He was always willing to take a few minutes to show  me how to troubleshoot potential problems, and a couple of times he returned at my request to follow up on something without charging for separate service calls. It was also really great that he could work not only on typical (water) plumbing but also on household gas lines.
