They're good. On time and knowledgeable

The plumber arrived exactly when promised. They identified the problem and how they would fix it. They were able to make the repair quickly and efficiently. The plumbers were nice and easy to deal with. The only slight irritation was the plumber suggested additional repairs. When I declined because they were not necessary, he continued to try to up-sell me on the additional repairs. Not a big deal.

Woody Combs was very thorough. He gave me a proposal up front, the work was performed, and they did a great job. I would recommend this company to anybody who needs a good plumber.

The experience was horrible. Oh Woody came out and gave us what we thought was a reasonable price in timely manner...its just that everything else was a joke. After he was finished...Pender County officials failed him on his work not once but twice. Heck my wife...who never says a thing ask Woody if he had installed water lines before. I of course on the second failure to have the water working by 6:00 PM that day or I was taking up his pipe and throwing it across the street in the ditch. After we almost come to blows he sheepishly comes knocking back on my door begging for forgiveness and wanting to complete the job. I relucantly agreed as I was not confident my well would hold up. My advice...don't call these bozos. Oh yea...come to find out the price was way too high. Others would have done in for about 2/3 of the cost...but that is my fault.
Response from Wilmington Plumbing Inc.
"We were very concerned to learn of this member's negative comments. Since this installation occurred over 18 months ago, it is apparent that he is still quite upset. By way of explanation, Pender County has both an inspection department as well as a utility department. The inspection department had historically inspected water lines. However, since county water was being made available on a more widespread basis, the utility department began performing its own inspections. Further, they mandated a specific inline check valve and gate valve for private residences connecting to the system be used, beyond the requirement previously stated by the inspection department. Unfortunately for him, our learning curve about this new requirement coincided with his water line installation. It should be noted even though it took longer to pass inspection than we would have liked, the member's were never without water. It simply took longer to switch over to the county water service from their well. As for the cost of our service, we strive to maintain competitive pricing. We provide free estimates and warranties on work we perform. We are a small business that is committed to maintaining the highest standards of licensure, workmanship, and insurance coverage to ensure that our customers are well served. These commitments have certain costs associated with them, and we continue to strive to be as efficient as possible to keep our pricing competitive. He was provided with an estimate by our company and had the opportunity to elicit bids from other contractors. Anecdotal information about cost is easily misspoken, particularly after a service has been rendered, and not all contractors maintain appropriate licensure and/or liability coverage. A company must be able to stay in business in order to honor its warranties. We are disappointed to know of his concerns, especially so long after the service was rendered. We can assure you that his experience was unusual, and would look forward to the opportunity to prove this situation to be the exception."
