The staff is caring, compassionate and professional. They gave us a written estimate prior to scheduling the surgery and then called us during the surgery to explain that Speedy needed additional extractions to the 2 originally contemplated and what the cost would be and did we wish to proceed. We highly recommend VCA Wrightsville.

They love the dogs. Everybody there loves the dogs. It is all about the animal. Sometimes, the treatment in the waiting room is a little long, but it is all about the animals. They are pretty easy going and straightforward. I have been in the waiting room with my dogs and have fallen sleep waiting for them to come back.

( I had prior poor experience with Dr. Carmine and would only see Dr. Lewis, whom I highly regarded. Sadly, Dr. Lewis has left the practice and I was stuck with Dr. Carmine.
After the exam, shots, etc. I asked about a micro-chip for my dog. My dog is around 2 years old and a rescue. I told Dr. Carmine that her history before I got her 11 months ago was and quot;sketchy and murkyand quot; - I don't have many facts. Dr. Carmine came back a bit later and said and quot;funny thing....and quot;. She had injected the chip and THEN did the scan to test it and found my dog already had another chip from another company - so now she had two. From 2 different companies. And she said she didn't think it would be a problem (?!)
I told her I wanted the company names and phone numbers and ID numbers from both chip companies so I could be sure that if either were scanned, it would point to me, not to whoever had the first chip done. Carmine then left and was on the phone with the chip companies for quite a while. Finally, she came back and gave me the information I had asked for.
And blithely said - well, I guess I should scan first before inserting a chip. Obviously.
I was losing my patience and then she said and quot;we have discounted the cost of inserting the chipand quot;. Which is incredibly aggravating. As if I would pay for an unnecessary and possibly harmful second chip in my dog? I will be demanding a refund of the and quot;undiscountedand quot; amount.
Dr. Lewis was a caring, thorough, professional and competent vet. I cannot say the same for Dr. CArmine and I will never take an animal to VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital again.
