Two Wheeler Dealer

Description of Work: I showed up late to the shop and they were about to close. They opened the door and let my son and I come in to make our purchase. I've bought parts and products from them in the past and I like the service.

Description of Work: This is a retail bicycle shop offering new and used sales, accessories sales, bicycle maintenance, and repair. They are the only dealer in Wilmington for Electra bicycles and that is why I went to their shop--to test ride an Electra, which claims a unique, patented design geometry. I was studiously ignored and avoided. There were only a handful of people in the shop on a weekday late morning but I could not readily discern how many were customers as no one appeared to be working. When I enter a retail establishment other that an big box store, I expect someone to greet me and offer assistance, which did not happen in this case. I went to the section contain the Electras but the bicycles were so tightly stocked, I was reluctant to attempt to extract one, fearing a domino-style chain reaction, otherwise I would have walked one to the front forcing someone to deal with me. I left the store and don't expect I'll be back. I subsequently bought another brand of bicycle at another bike shop in town, where someone did show an interest in my presence in the store--another brand, it goes without saying. I wonder if Electra is aware of its dealers lack of interest in selling its products. It is really kind of sad. The company (Electra) makes some great looking bicycles, totally a US product, and they are fairly pricey. Although I came out $300 ahead, in my heart-of-hearts I wish I had the Electra but I am not going to beg some salesman (woman) to sell me their product.
