It went really pretty well and the end product turned out fantastic! Chris and Ryan did a great job building the room. Both are really hard and dedicated workers. Communication could have been a little better - but the end result was great. Billy Painter is the president of the company and is the design design guy. He did a terrific job blending the two spaces and resolving any issues that arose. Andrew is the up front guy and a real pleasure to work with. Got quotes from two other companies and Southern Exposure was the best. I would recommend them.

Tom with southern exposures was the most unresponsive person in trying to get a timeframe established. He was prompt in contacting us for the work and sending me the contract, but once they cashed my deposit, it was extremely difficult in getting a timeframe for which the work would start. I have several emails from me and from my tenant asking for timelines. The only time I was able to get a response was when I called their office (again) and Tom happened to be there at that moment, so receptionist gave him the phone to speak with me. At that time I was told it would be started that week and finished; however, it was another 3 weeks before the job was finished. Once again, I couldn't get a straight answer from Tom, so we had to go to the mason who was contracted to do the work. Once we started communicating with the mason, the work started rolling. I would have preferred to use him vs. going through southern. Three other items that really irked me is that I signed a contract and sent with the deposit, but they never signed and sent back. Once the job was finished, my tenant said no-one from Southern came by to inspect the job. Finally, the minute they finished the work, they blew up my phone and email for payment. I received an invoice the following Monday in which I mailed a check for the full amount to them the following Thursday (less than a week). Basically they wanted a response right away once the work was completed. Never again will I use these people just because their follow-up is so poor.

Southern Exposures Sun-rooms just completed my project to enclose our Lanai. They have been true to their promise so far (2 weeks after completion of project). This company was very responsive from the point of getting an estimate to job completion. I got 7 estimates and although they were not the least expensive, they quite close. We choose them because they have a local office in Wilmington as well as a warehouse in Leland. Also, they have been very quick to respond to all of our inquiries regarding cost, product qualities and install dates. All of the employees that we encountered, the office receptionist,salesman,hands-on installers and follow-up managers were cordial, professional and efficient.Upon completion of the install, a quality control manager came to visit to establish a list(punch list)of items that needed attention. There were three items of which 2 were corrected within 2 days. The 3rd required a re-order. We highly recommend Southern Exposures Sunrooms, 921 S.College road, Wilmington, NC.

His product was good. A little confusion because it was hard to get information out of them. We are satisfied with the overall product.

It went fine. I was never here, I was out of town and when I came back it was done. The quality is fine. They did a great a job. It's an Eze Breeze System so it has springs and also has windows that go up and down but we lived on a golf course then so the windows were kind of plastic. What they are going to do for me is I'm going to put a lanai on my back deck so they have to extend the deck and put the lanai. As soon as I get my HOA approval, they will do that. I didn't have any issues with the quality. Responsiveness was great because they had some little aztec latches on them and a couple of mine broke after years and they just sent me some with no charge.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Sales - Peter & Scott were helpful and knowledgable. Responses to calls were prompt.  Installers were on time, skilled, worked without delays or breaks, respectful of property, made sure the job was done right.  We are very pleased with this company and our new 'year-round' porch!!

The initial installation went well. The workers were professional and cleaned up every day. There were some minor fit and finish issues, but overall a B. The issue I addressed above occured post installation. I believe I was not fairly treated as a customer and need to report that here.
Response from Southern Exposure Sunrooms
"As I tried to explain to you on the phone, Southern Exposure Sunrooms services the manufacturer’s warranties on all of the sunrooms we have built. At one time the manufacturer of our products serviced them. With the changes in the economy they stopped doing it. We do not have separate repair crews, and have to assign our regular work crews to do repairs. You had a seal failure in your glass. The replacement glass was covered under warranty. We have had to charge for the labor and service to cover our costs. You believed we charged you too much to correct the seal failure. Below is a breakdown of the direct costs we attribute to your repair: Phone call from customer, write up repair and work order, identify PO and warranty, fax to Ed and Joe: 15 minutes: $ 10 Joe Ski; get fax; find folder, identify specific window, write up order, send to supplier, : $25 Ed, Offload window, stack, verify paperwork (copy to Joe and fax to Cheryl), schedule repair, call customer for time: $15 Retrieve work order, review repair with crew (two man), load window; 10 minutes: $10 Drive to Customer, 30 minutes ; $22.50 Greet customer, offload window, remove old window, replace with new window, return to truck; 30 minutes: $22.50 Go to next job: gas est. $12 Prepare and send invoice, receive payment, take to bank to deposit: $5.45 Fill out time card, figure pay, post pay; $5.00 Worker’s comp, company Soc. Sec portion: $20 Southern Exposure Sunrooms does not make any profit on repairs. We merely try to cover our costs. When our crews are doing repairs, they are not building new rooms. Because of that repairs cost the company lost profit on the jobs that we aren’t doing while servicing the repairs. We have service responsibility on over 5000 rooms that we have built. 90% of our repairs are for manufacturing warranty issues that are not caused by Southern Exposure Sunrooms craftsmanship."

I came across them online and I didn't care for their management. They basically told me they were going to do something to help out and there would be no charge for it. After I paid they called me back and said I owed more money. I disputed it and haven't heard back from them yet. It was just that one individual guy, everyone else there was great. The workers were fine but the owner was not.

The salesman was very knowledgable and professional. Took time out of his busy weekend to fit in our sales call which was to accommodate our work schedule. His estimate of time between sale & installation was accurate. The young men who performed the installation were experienced, professional and on time. The work was completed efficiently and their behavior & clean-up were excellent. We are very pleased with the finished product and the whole process and would highly recommend this company.
