The "technical" aspects of the grooming went well BUT unfortunately, I can't say the same for the nasty attitude of the Owner/Manager.
She is the most unfriendly, obnoxious, hostile person in what is supposed to be a highly personal service, namely handling and grooming our dog, who is our baby.
We have been using Sea Peace Pet Grooming for nearly a year, since we moved to the Wilmington area.
Since our dog is a rescue, having severe anxiety issues with other dogs and being on daily Prozac prescription as a treatment, due to abuse and abandonment prior to when we rescued him from the New York City Kill shelter, he needs to be exposed to other dogs as little as possible.
We have requested from the very first visit to Sea Peace to please groom him with as little delay as possible and have been bringing him there right at the opening of the salon at 7:30 AM, as they told us if he came early, he would be handled quickly and we could pick him up around noontime.
The last time we brought him there, we missed being 1st through the door, but he was there by 7:45 AM and I was told he would be ready shortly after noon.
When I called around noon to find out the time, I was told he would be ready around 3 PM and when I asked why a 3 hour grooming treatment would suddenly now take 7 hours, I was told it was because he wasn't 1st through the doors.
I asked to speak to the manager and explained once again about his anxiety issue and needing to not make his treatment more stressful than necessary. The manager sounded annoyed and said they will get him ready in another hour.
When I came to pick him up, she "reprimanded" me for not being satisfied to get him back at 3 PM and said that was because of not being 1st. through the doors.
We thought the incidence was over and by bringing him back for grooming they would appreciate the business and treat us with respect and try their best to handle Coco with the least stress on him as possible.
Well - GUESS AGAIN - the owner/manager's attitude not only didn't improve, it actually got worse.
I got Coco in the salon at 7:30 and was the very 1st dog on premises. The groomer who was there to accept him, told me they would call an hour before he was ready and I assumed it would be around noon for a pickup. Well - GUESS AGAIN - the owner/manager call at 11 AM and asked if we could pickup Coco at around 3 PM, as one of their groomer could not come to work. I was foolish enough to ask why Coco could not be handled as a priority due to his anxiety condition and I got a terse reply that would be too difficult for them, to which I said that I really wanted him to be handled as a priority and not be held for 6+ hours. In a voice with some real annoyance and attitude, I was told he would be ready at noon.
When we came to get him a little after noon, the Owner/manager told me it would be $77. opened the door to let Coco come to us, took my $80., gave me $3. change WITHOUT saying "Thank You" and turned around and disappeared into another room.
From now on we will find another groomer for our dog, who may not be as good a groomer but will treat our dog more promptly and more concern for his health and more respect and customer service toward us.

They are wonderful! My larger dog has a "thing" about his paws being touched and he gets growly, even with me. This is not a problem for the pros at Sea Peace, they are calm and patient with him through the entire grooming appt. My mediums size dog (35 lbs) is very shy and afraid of just about everything. She goes right into Sea Peace and goes right to the groomer. I cannot believe how she has taken to them immediately. The only reason I couldn't give them A's across the board is because of their prices, I came here from another state where my groomer charged half the price I am paying here. I do believe though it is a going rate here in Wilmington. I went to one slightly cheaper and was very sorry for it.
I HIGHLY recommend Sea Peace.

My dog actually runs into the salon. He likes being there and that is very telling to me. The staff is on time, very good as what it does, friendly and businesslike. I enjoy being a customer of Sea Peace and have rfeferred them several times.

Sea Peace takes your pet to be groomed in the morning and calls when the pet is ready. They have made some accommodations when I was on a tight schedule.
