A buyers agent is a real estate agent that only represents the buyer.  If you walk into a home for sale and talk with the selling agent, you are talking with someone who already has an obligation to the seller.  It is not realistic to expect someone to be able to represent both sides of the transaction.  Have you ever heard of a lawyer being both the prosecutor and the defense attorney.  Heck no ?!?!

Ellen Jo listened to what I was looking for and sent me listings that fit what I was looking for.  One house looked particularly perfect but it went under contract before I could come to town to look at houses.  2 days before my visit, Ellen Jo immediately saw that my house was back on the market and she got me an appointment.  After taking me to lunch and telling me all about Wilmington and how the buying process works in North Carolina, she drove me all around town to show me lots of different neighborhoods in my price range.  The house I wanted turned out to be perfect and we put a contract on it immediately.  Ellen Jo was terrific during the whole due diligence process, representing me and meeting people at the house since I was back in California.  The process went smoothly and she was on top of every detail and kept me informed.  When I arrived at my new home after a long cross country drive, I was greeted with brand new welcome mats.  There was even one at the back door for my dog!  I consider Ellen Jo more than my agent.  She's my friend!!!!

Our agent served as buyers agent for my wife and me when we moved to Wilmington. Our agent is a great listener, easy to talk to and exceptionally knowledgeable. She was always very quick to respond to our emails and phone calls, and she always kept us up-to-date on the details of our transaction.
