My mother had this company completely replace her roof 8 years ago. I recently went through the process of getting ready to sell her house, and had to deal with the nightmare that Easterling Roofing left her in terms of their shoddy work. First, the roofers did not replace rotted or damaged sheathing at one corner of the house, as required by the contract, which will now require shingle removal to repair. Secondly, according to an appraiser who assessed the value of the property the chimney was flashed improperly in that the flashing was not cut into the mortar as required by code. Lastly, and worst of all, the roofers improperly replaced the shingles by extending the shingles four inches beyond the drip edge of the house, effectively walling off the gutters so that they cannot be cleaned without breaking off the shingles. Another roofing company assessed the situation and said that the only possible repair was to remove and replace multiple rows of shingles at the edge of the roof at substantial cost. What a mess.
Response from Easterling Roofing
"This review was left in October, 2019, and we were not notified of this until yesterday, February 11, 2020. There are a few things that we take issue with. First, we were never even given the opportunity to inspect or correct any mistakes that were made. It was just easier to make accusations on the internet, rather than addressing the issue(s) with us directly. We remember his mother, [Member Name Removed], and found her to be a very nice lady. In fact we not only roofed her house, we roofed her detached garage, and later did some repairs after a tree fell and damaged the front of her house. Second, we would have replaced any rotted wood we saw. If the wood was stained, but not rotted, then we would have left it. Could we have missed a couple of small areas? Absolutely, we're human. But we would not have intentionally roofed over rotted wood and any area missed, would have been extremely small. Again, we knew nothing about any issues Mr. [Member Name Removed] supposedly had. Third, we have gone back to our files and found Mrs. [Member Name Removed]'s original proposal dated February 8, 2012, and we did not reflash her chimney. Had we reflashed it, we absolutely would've cut the brick and installed the counter flashing correctly. We re-used the existing flashing because it was copper and appeared to be in good shape. We did remove the existing white silicone caulk on both the upper and lower chimneys and applied new black or brown rubberized caulk. Fourth, we absolutely did not and would not install shingles so that they would hang over the drip edge four inches. We have no idea what Mr. [Member Name Removed] is referring to, but we categorically deny ever installing shingles in that manner. If the shingles do, in fact, extend 4 inches beyond the drip edge, something else had to have happened (i.e. shingle molding removed)."

Great! No problems at all. Because this company stays booked up, I had to wait 3-4 weeks before Mr. Easterling could schedule me for the complete reroof with ridge vents. He immediately repaired a place around the chimney that was leaking so I would have no further damage until the job could be done.

Dale and his crew did an excellent job in re-roofing my home and detached garage.  They installed 39 squares of roofing in 2 days.  I had a new 39' x 14' deck on the back of my house that they completely covered with protective plywood during the installation.  I found that they were very methodical  with all details and in doing the job right and their price was $2000 less than other quotes.  I would highly recommend them.

The first day of work Mr. Easterling introduced us to the foreman, Steve, who worked and stayed on site the entire time.  He was our point of contact for questions and concerns.  He was an outstanding leader of the crew who took great care to protect the vegetation around the house, especially a Japanese maple.  At the end of each day, they left the work areas neat and tidy.  They all worked tirelessly removing the old roof and putting on the new one.

Once the work began, I asked if a skylight could be added to the attic area. (This was in addition to the attic fan request.) Since it was a last minute change but before the new shingles were put on, I went to Lowes and bought the skylight.  The crew installed it.  (Wow!  What a pleasant improvement to have natural light in our attic now.)
Upon completion of the work and after a rain, we noticed a dampness in the carpet near our den fireplace which had been a previous problem associated with the cap on the chimney.  We contacted Mr. Easterling.  Steve and another crew member came to examine the chimney cap and the problem was immediately corrected.
The entire process and especially communication was excellent from beginning to end.  It was money well spent for the superior service and great look our new roof gives to the house.

The whole experience was perfect from estimate to the completion of the roof.  We had some questions regarding the estimate, they were addressed and a new estimate provided in a timely manner.  Workers were on time and extremely neat and courteous.  We had some rain during the roof installation process but Easterling Roofing came out and did what work they could.  The whole experience was excellent.  I have recommended them to friends who have commented on our new roof and how nice it looks.

100% HAPPY!
In the AM we watched a roof being instaled on a home across the street. In the PM it was complete. Everthing was cleaned up and the only thing that was left was a beautiful roof by Dale Easterling Roofing. We got his name off the sign in the front yard and checked Angie's List and found he was top rated. We called and Mr.Easterling came out on a Thursday, gave us the estimate along with a large variety of shingle colors to choose from. We choose Mojave Tan which is a light brown and looks really good! His crew arrived at the time expected and got to work ASAP. Eastering Roofings crew were courteous and looked out for our safety when we left and re-entered the house. They did a complete clean up after the job was completed leaving us with a beautiful roof we are in awe off!

Again,
100% HAPPY!

He fixed skylights I had in a town home that were allowing water to leak in. He came right out and handled the situation.  He is very knowledgeable.  He is really good.  He is very trustworthy.

The leak was in an area where the roofing material was something called EPDM. The repairman applied chalking as a temporary measure to stop the leak. I was subsequently given an estimate of $1150 to completely replace the EPG material in this section of the roof. I felt this estimate was high and subsequently sought out two additional estimates. One of the other companies gave me an estimate of approximately $650 so I had that company perform the replacement of the EPG roofing material. Both of the subsequent companies that provided estimates recommended that we upgrade from EPDM to TPO which is what was used.

He made the process extremely user-friendly. I had never had a roof redone so didn't know what questions to ask and he came to the house for an initial estimate. He got on the roof and took measurements, explained to me afterward what needed to be done and answered all my questions, volunteered information concerning roof requirements, then handed me a written estimate with all necessary details. No hidden costs. All costs explained. Very straightforward and not condescending at all. Trustworthy. Came highly recommended by my boss and had also done a neighbor's roof. Work guaranteed.
