My refrigerator was loaded with food when early in the morning I discovered it was not cooling. The freezer on top was working - in fact there was ice all over the back panel. It had been forming for some time and I did nothing about it. Dr. Fix-It was the earliest emergency repairman I could get. They asked the make, year and model of my 1997 refrigerator on the phone before dispatching the repairman and he arrived at noon. I had transferred food to coolers before he got there. The repairman - I've forgotten his name - evaluated the situation and went right to work. I am somebody who stands near repairmen as they work and asks questions to try and learn. The repairman removed the back panel from the top freezer to discover all the coils frozen over with ice. Unfortunately, defrosting and chipping away all the ice took two hours and most of the cost of the repair. Then he replaced the small part that wasn't working properly, tested it, and finished up. He was extremely knowledgeable and went right to the source of the problem. He was also patient with me hanging around and asking some questions. But I now know how freezer top refrigerators work - by circulating the cold air to the bottom section.

Each step was professionally performed, timely, and well cleaned up after.
This is the third time I have used their technician, Richard. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience.
The first was amanufacturer re-call repair on a Wolfe Range. The second was a series of problems with the ice maker in my Viking refrigerator/freezer. When the work was completed all worked perfectly!
They more than met my expectations.

Richard was punctual and identified the problem. Unfortunately it required climbing on the roof to clean the dryer vent. He returned a week later with the necessary ladder and tools and completed the job. We were very satisfied.
