Brinson & Sons

Man came out added Freon and said it looked fine. I explained that the temp setting changes on its own and won’t stay where set. He said it worked for him. I said I think it isn’t going to stay. Charged me 277.55 This was a couple of weeks ago and is an upstairs unit that is only used when I have company. This weekend it was on and is doing same thing. I checked this morning and it was 57 degrees upstairs. I called Brinson to say they need to come back and bring a new thermostat which of course is pay for but I don’t expect to pay for a another 84.95 diagnostic charge. She put me on hold and came back to say sorry we will charge another trip/diagnostic call. I told her that I’d call another company and post as many bad reviews as possible

They arrived right on time for the appointment. The technician went right to work; he was very cordial and thorough. He knew exactly what to look for, where to look for it, and quoted the price for the repair part as well as any extra work that would - or should go along with it. I was not surprised to find that the repair along was almost $1400.00. Tim Brinson himself did the estimate for the heat pump upgrade, and he was as thorough and precise and punctual as could be expected. After much thought and talking with our bank (we were refinancing at the time), we opted for the much pricier heat pump system, with the proceeds being paid out of the closing. Brinson was wonderful to work with on this! They didn't require any down payment as the funds were being paid in full from escrow, and they even scheduled the work to be completed BEFORE the closing date since they had an open slot! I realize this is an exception to their contract, but the bank insisted that we upgrade and that the funds only be paid in full from escrow within 30 days of closing - we're not talking a minimal $1000.00 job here - this was a $5200.00 job that took the better part of the day to install. The installation technicians were just as prompt as their counterparts from earlier had been; they were clean, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. They showed me the guts of the new system, explained the thermostat, checked to be certain everything was working properly, and thoroughly cleaned up behind themselves before leaving!
I would like to express my gratitude for their commitment to professionalism and making me feel like they cared - from the first phone contact, through the special payment method issues and in person, when I went to write the separate check for the maintenance. I felt like my business mattered - not because I was spending a great deal of money with them, but because they are proud to be part of our community and want to be sure their customers know they are valued. No doubt that I will recommend Brinson and Sons to anyone looking for dependable HVAC service, and they'll be the ones I call when I get my new storefront up and going as well!

I have used Brinson and Sons for several years and found their work to be exemplary.

Have an elderly AC unit that is near its life's end. I get biannual maintenance with Brinson and Sons. They are prompt, courteous and informative. They go out of their way to communicate and their prices are very reasonable. When my unit goes, they will be the ones to replace it. During the heat of this summer, I had two separate problems and the response was same day. Pat one of the servicemen is a great guy and very knowledgeable.

We knew we needed a brand new system, so we researched and got estimates for weeks. We also wanted to go with an established company that employed their own crew for installation and service. Everyone who talked to us was professional and helpful. We narrowed our choices down to those who had taken the time to do the proper measurements during the estimate. Among those companies, we had a very favorable personal recommendation for Brinson and Sons. When I talked to Tim Brinson, he was more than willing to answer all my questions about the best kind and size of system for our smaller, 1940 built house and our budget, and was genuine and personable. We made up our minds finally, and Tim had an installation crew out within three working days. They completed the job from start to finish in two days.

Benny, Brian, Roman, and Luis were efficient, quiet, and respectful of the property. For a day, the front yard was filled with old insulation, the old furnace, duct work, etc. and when they departed, I couldn't find a single scrap left behind. Also, they protected the floors and swept up all their dust and indoor debris. Tim Brinson came by to check and to offer a window unit for the night, but I declined. I told Benny that the bedroom duct caused the most trouble with heating and cooling, so he and Brian immediately made an adjustment. Now that room is the coolest in the house. We did not opt for the extra filtration, but nonetheless, we have experienced a most satisfying difference in the noise level, the temperature comfort, and the dust.

Would we have liked to have paid less? Of course, but with the 5% discount for paying cash, Brinson's estimate was on the lower end of the estimates we were getting for replacing the entire system with anything, be it gas furnace, heat pump, or gas pack. Tim took care of all the paper work, including the rebate for Progress Energy and the necessary documentation for the taxes. I had a couple of questions about the thermostat soon after the installation, and Tim promptly answered them. If my experience with Brinson and Sons holds true, I also feel confident that future services and/or repairs will be handled in the same quick, professional, personable manner.

It was a perfect job. They ordered the unit, removed the old one, installed the new. The workmen were all very professional. They worked continually to get the work done the same day. When they were thru, they cleaned up there mess inside. They cleaned and hauled the mess outside as well.

System not cooling well. Tech charged it but did not check for leaks - told me that it was normal for it to leak over time.
