Blake's Appliance Repair

I got Eric Blake through Network Reality. The freezer side of my Frigidaire side by side was making a terrible noise. I have a background in heating and air so I thought I knew what was wrong. Too make a long story short the coils were covered in ice. Eric found the problem right away, but there was no apparent reason why the coils were frozen. Eric started by checking the same things I would have checked but everything was checking out ok. This fact did not stop him. He kept checking things and even though he knew I had a working knowledge of refrigeration he was very thorough in explaining the different things he was troubleshooting. After a long period of time when even I was giving up on what is this problem,(but not Eric). He found a small amount of water was swirling out of the ice maker water load tube. There had been a new solenoid installed on the ice maker in the past and the new solenoid was allowing too much water pressure causing the tube to over flow. The amount was so small that after Eric showed it to me I could barely see it. I think most repair people today would have just started replacing parts but not Mr. Blake. He continued to amaze me with his technical knowledge, and his use of it, in finding the problem.
