Favorable Changes

Jimmy has done a variety of small jobs for us. His most recent job was
to replace an outside door in the basement. It turned out to be a tough
job because the door frame was rotted and not square. He was determined
to do a good job and he did. He is very knowledgeable about home construction.

Jim responded immediately to my initial phone inquiry.  He took the time for an initial visit to review the work that we needed and answer several of our questions that were generated by observations made by the house inspection report which was
performed prior to purchase of the house in June.
Jim always kept us informed when he was coming to work and he was always on time.  He took the time to explain what he was going to do and give us options.  His suggestions for the kind of pet doors were excellent. It became evident after watching Jim work and seeing the quality of his work that he was a proficient and skilled craftsman.  We will keep his contact information handy
for our next project and a future bath remodel.

We noticed a card in a local restaurant for and quot;Favorable Changesand quot; and I
gave Mr Pohl a call. I spoke to him regarding a small job we needed
help with which was installing a ledger on the back side of my house
that would support a flat roof for a screened-in porch on my deck. My
partner an I had some experience with small DIY stuff like building
stone garden walls and building pre-fab sheds, fence building and the
like. We decided to go with Jim as he was very open to letting us help
with the job and learn! With an experienced person to keep us from
making newbie mistakes we were confident after the job was complete that
we could finish it up alone.
From start to finish the job went smoothly and professionally. Jim was paid on an hourly rate and he told us that to save money we could get the materials so that he wasn't tied up buying stuff instead of doing actual work that required his expertise. Anyone can shop if they have a list right? So we shopped all the stuff ahead and it was there when he arrived to start work.
We saved money and learned a lot. A + Jim. We will be calling Jim again on the next project.

His carpentry skills are incredible, and he analyzes the problem before suggesting a solution. He is ethical, fun to talk with, and does a tremendously good job. Highly recommended!!

It went very well over all--he had some other things he had to do, so it was not continuous, but he showed up on time and got everything done when he said he would. He was easy to work with and listened to all my ideas and changes. He brought help in when he needed it to get the moulding installed, and they were easy to work with also. It was a good experience, the work was very well done, and we are very pleased with the results.
