Our experience with them is excellent. Have you ever seen anybody get on their hands and knees with a bucket and crawl around your bushes to pick up dead leaves and stuff! They are on their hands and knees to pick stuff up. It scared me the first time I saw it! I thought oh, who's that? Not only do they prune the bushes and the shrubs, but they know how. They know where to prune them for the growth spurt and when to prune them, so you don't kill the next year's blossoms. The guy that owns Twisted Willow, he looks like a good old Southern country boy, but when you start talking to him, he starts using this scientific jargon for each bush, each plant. He gets up in the bushes with hand clippers and he knows what joint to cut, what joint no to cut. Our shrubs and hedges have never looked fuller and ever looked better since we turned it over to him. He is a little expensive. I think it depends on the size of the yard. We own almost an acre and it's fully loaded with trees and shrubs and bushes and plants. He charges about $300 a month. And then he does pine straw that's extra. If he puts down weed killer or special fungus killer, some of the things are extra. Basically the $300 covers yard cleanup, storm cleanup, cutting and trimming. When I started with him, I thought he was too expensive. But I've got the thickest, greenest grass and the best hedges and bushes. So what you're paying extra for is for your shrubs to bloom and your grass to be green and disease free. So I think it is appropriate what he actually offers. I've seen him ride in the neighborhood on a weekend on a Sunday, after a storm. He will park his truck and he will get out and start picking up dead limbs and stuff the wind brought down.

I received a notice from the HOA about overgrown grass on a lot I had for sale in the community. It's a heavily-wooded lot I didn't even realize HAD any grass! When I drove over to take a look for myself, I noticed a young man trimming a nearby common area (Twisted Willow has the contract for the common areas of the community) -- and I asked him if he thought the owner of the company would be amenable to occasionally trimming the minimal area of tall grass growing just along the curb on my lot. He gave me contact information for Dave Condor, the owner. When I phoned Dave, he told me that would be no problem; it'd probably only need attention about once a month or so to keep it under control. And that's just how it has progressed -- I'm not sure he's even bothered to charge me every time he's been out there! Meanwhile, I was having trouble with weeds in the grass of the home where I actually live, and he's in the process of helping me improve the look of that grass -- but that's a subject for another review! I would just add that Dave Condor is the nicest person to work with -- knowledgeable, courteous, pleasant and professional. I'm actually glad I got that initial notice from the HOA, or I'd never have had the pleasure of meeting him! AND -- no more nasty-grams from the HOA!

He is fantastic. He is creative and does a very thorough job. He crawls around the shrubs and hedges on his hands and knees with a bucket, picking up weeds and stuff that should not be there. We have never had anybody care as much about our yard and shrubs as him. He cuts the grass, does mulch install, bug, weed and disease control, and trimming and pruning. We spent about $250 a month. We had a large tree shrub that blew over in a bad wind and rain storm, so I called and asked him what to do. He was out that day to take it down he was unbelievable.

I called the office phone # late Wednesday afternoon, and Dave Conder called me back the next morning and came out that Saturday to do an estimate. I had initially wanted to do a retaining wall for the hill but was open to other ideas. Dave advised that a wall would cost a lot of money relative to what we would be getting out of it in house value and suggested that our best bet was the job we ended up doing. He gave us a rough estimate on the spot and sent us a formal estimate a week later that was very close to the rough estimate. Dave was not able to start work for a little over 3 weeks after he first came out, but it worked out well for us as we were not in a big hurry and needed to get our budget in order anyway. Dave only has two other guys working with him and keeps very busy, which I took as a good sign that he does good work. After the job was done, he discounted us $50 from the formal estimate (because he liked having a job close to home, he said). Overall, a great experience, and I would use Dave again. He is very personable, professional, and easy to work with. The area of the backyard no longer looks like an eyesore and is now a breath of fresh air. I am looking forward to the plants he put in getting bigger and filling in the space. If you're thinking of using Dave, I would only caution that (1) he has a small and busy operation, so chances are he is not going to be able start the job immediately and (2) he asks for half the cost at the start of the job and the other half once the work is complete (maybe that's common as I have not used a landscaper before Dave).

We call him the Plant Whisperer. I've been through some really bad companies but David, the owner, really loves what he does and shows up on time, the same day of the week. He's always on the job, and he's never absent. When I have issues I can actually talk to him, which is so important! Another important thing for me is that he does not have a contract. He said that if he does everything right, then he shouldn't need his customers to sign one. We pay a monthly fee, which is the approximate cost listed and is extremely fair.

Dave has been doing some landscaping jobs in our community in Fort Mill. He has submitted a few verbal quotes and patiently waited for us to get other hardscape work done and finally be ready for him. We wanted some basic landscaping,garden/sod, but Dave also corrected a drainage line that seemed unsafe and re-graded a part of the yard for correct run-off. He didn't use heavy equipment, so there was no extra damage to the yard. He chose good plants and stayed close to our budget. We decided to put a tree screen in at the last minute, and he was good enough to take care of that as well. He came back around a week after the job just to check on the plants and make watering suggestions, which was helpful.
