It was a great experience and I am so happy with how the new deck looks.  I can hardly wait till I can watch TV, with a beer in my hand, in the shade under a ceiling fan while the kids swim in the pool.  The 2 workers were fantastic.  Showed up on time and even worked in a December rain.  They listened to my directions on how I wanted the details of the deck to look and even changed and rebuilt several things that I wanted slightly different.  It was a complicated project to get the deck with enough head room for ceiling fans, not block the crawl space vents, and place a low slope roof between the windows of the first and second stories.  A couple contractors did not want the job after looking at the difficulty involved.  The price was $4,000 less than the next lowest bid.  From demolition to completion, except staining, project took 3 weeks.
