I was looking for a replacement drain for a sink.  Thankfully there's never a time I don't ask someone where something is that they don't take me to the product.  Otherwise, I'd spend an hour just looking for it.

On April 16, 2015 I went to Lowes in Waxhaw, NC and indicated I wanted a set of heavy duty fold down attic stairs installed in my home.  I paid $35 upfront to have the opening measured by the contractor to insure that the stairs would fit the opening and all materials were included for the installation.  A contractor rep with a Lowes Contractor shirt arrived and took the measurements.  I made it a point to the contractor that this installation impacted another project and time was important to finish in a week. I went to Lowes and signed the purchase order on April 24, 2015.  I again stressed the importance of no delay. I was told that if we did not hear from the contractor by April 28th to call Lowes.  I did this and we were assured that the contractor would schedule the project and call.  He called and said that he would be there Saturday, May 2nd.  He did not show nor call about the delay.  I was out of town and my wife called Lowes again and the contractor did not call.
I returned home on May 6th and went to Lowes the next morning and asked to speak with the manager of the store.  I expressed my disappointment with the project and indicated that this contractor was an extreme example of poor customer service.  The manager called the contractor, Blue Ridge Craftsman and in my presence was assured that they would be out the next day,  May 7, 2015 between 9 and 10 AM.  Again the contractor did not show up nor call.  Today is May 10th and I still have not heard from Blue Ridge.
Tomorrow I am going to Lowes and demand return of my money and will contract with some other company to accomplish the project.
I have no issue with Lowes other than their choice of subcontractors but this Blue Ridge contractor needs to be terminated.

Initially, was very pleased with the option to purchase the ovens from my neighborhood Lowe's in Waxhaw. Problems ensued when trying to get an installation quote. Lowe's informed that I should be contacted within 48 hours for installation quote. It was almost four days before I received a call. This was after multiple calls and confusion within the Lowe's process of who should be assigned to the quote. I eventually spoke to the store manager. He was very attentive and apologetic. He also agreed to price match with an HHGregg special, which I'd previously been told they would not match. This was a great sign that things would start moving in the right direction. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Lowe's could not provide an availability date for the ovens. Evidently Bosch rolled out a new oven without sufficient supply. I made almost daily calls or visits to Lowes for status. The sales rep who responded to my almost daily calls tried to be as helpful as possible, but I felt as if the issue was beyond his level of authority and should have been escalated to management.  To my surprise, with one of my almost daily status calls I learned that the ovens were in. I then contacted the installer and arranged for an install date of 11/13/14.  Several days after securing that date a Lowe's representative called to inform me that my DISHWASHER (not ovens)  had arrived. I explained that I had not ordered a dishwasher but ovens and was already informed of their arrival. The representative then told me that installation was scheduled for 12/3/14. This was confusing as I had already secured an install date with the installer. I explained that to the Lowe's representative and he said to go with what I already scheduled.  Talk about a confusing mess.

Please note that this review is for the Lowe's experience only and not for the product or the installer. Both the Bosch ovens and the installer get an "A".

We purchased $3000.00 in kitchen appliances from our Waxhaw NC Lowe's. The worst experience ever!! Will never do this again especially after dealing with store manager Mike. First installers they sent quit job when they arrived at our house to find Lowe's only had delivered one appliance and not the other 2. Mr Winn cursed Lowe's and said they do this all the GD time, said he quit. He would never install for Lowe's again. Threw his clipboard in truck and left our home. Second installers sent installed dishwasher and microwave but could not figure out how to remove our old stove that Lowe's had originally installed. He asked my husband to sign a release form that released him from any damages to stove or our hardwood floors if he had to and quot;ripand quot; it out. My husband would not sign consent so he left. He said that he installed stoves for years and could not get this one out. Manager Mike told me that all customers have to sign release before installers will begin work. Please tell me why installer installed dishwasher and microwave without signed consent. He only wanted a signature when he could not get stove out. I had Charlotte Mechanical out Saturday night and stove was removed in 30 minutes! The owners manual clearly showed the 4 anti tip screws had to be loosened from my counter tops underneath the glass top. Mike, store manager told me that Lowe's would have never install the anti tip screws previously because Lowe's is not allowed to screw in anything into counters or cabinets...however the Lowe's installer tonight that installed microwave and dishwasher drilled holes and attached the microwave and dishwasher to BOTH of my cabinets and underside of my countertops?? Store manager was angered that he had to call me at home after his shift had ended. I had him on speaker phone while another Lowe's employee from a different store listened to him speak with me. She has worked for Lowe's for over 16 years was appalled as to how he spoke to me. He even stated he would call the Lowe's CPU Sunday morning so my complaint would not matter! I told him I was promised a $300 rebate but later found out it was in Lowe's gift cards and I would like to exchange them out for the cash because I do not intend to go back to Lowe's and that I could use that to money to pay for Charlotte Mechanicals services because he had declined to take care of that bill for us. He said he could not do that. Lowe's employee from Mooresville location who was listening to our call said it Lowe's policy and that it is the managers discretion to cash out gift cards and that he certainly could have done that for us. Mike from Waxhaw stated that he went above his call of duty to get me and my husband a Saturday install and that since the original installers arrived and quit he had to pay a $200 emergency service fee to have second installers come to complete job. After all of this I still was left with old range not removed and a $2000 range sitting on my front porch and Lowe's telling me I would have to wait until Monday for Mike to try to see what he could do. And that since I wasn't charged for an install he did not have to complete it. Rick who sold me the appliances at Lowe's said since it was a plug in unit there was NOT an installation charge. I would only have to pay for a new power cord. UNBELIEVABLE! And Mike was angry because I cursed his store manager because she told me that she could not reach him after hours! I own and run a multi million dollar business and my staff can reach me 24-7. After calling Jennifer (shift manager) back three times Sat night each time she said she could not reach Mike she finally miraculously reached him! WOULD ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND NOT BE ANGRY AT THIS POINT???? I have documented this entire process that began last Sunday until today along with pictures every step of the way. I would hope this would be of some concern to Lowe's Corporate of how these store managers think they can sweep what they would call a problem customer under the rug.
I have emailed this complaint over to you all via email and also through the contact portion of your website and Instagram and Twitter. This will also be forwarded to the BBB Monday morning as well as Angie's List. My friend who has worked for another Lowe's location for over 16 years urged me to call Lowe's CPU Monday morning regardless of what Mike said. That she could not believe how she heard him speak to me over speaker phone Saturday night. I paid the gentlemen to install my stove for me Saturday night. How embarrassing for them to hear the store manager speaking to me the way he did. And to think we had an estimate for Lowe's to do all of our flooring in our mountain house? Also all week last week Lowe's called two times tying to deliver appliances to my home on Wednesday for install. I kept telling delivery services that Mike had changed my installation from Thursday to Saturday. Well that was all a surprise to them because they were never told. Lots of miss communication going on at this Lowe's.

In February, we retained Lowe's (Installation Business unit) to manage a small bathroom renovation. They had Renovations, Inc. as their main contractor. The entire project became a debacle, with Lowe's and Renovations to blame. Lowe's required 100% payment up front, which is contrary to all consumer protection interests. When the work became totally unacceptable, we tried to get our money back to retain a new contractor. The Lowe's store manager said we had to finish the job with the original contractor despite their incompetence. Thus we were trapped into accepting terrible delays (some jobs had to be done over several times) and the stress of questionable workmanship. The project that originally was scheduled for 3 weeks was finally completed in 12 weeks. Lowe's promises satisfaction, but we are certainly dissatisfied. While the individual Lowe's employee seems motivated and customer oriented, the rules that run the Installation Business unit are definitely not consumer friendly. In overall evaluation, Lowe's merits a D and Renovations, Inc. an F-.r

I thought that they were pretty competitive and the price was about average. The work that they did was fine. They did a good job. The workers were friendly. It was a little more expensive than I had thought, but it was a relatively smaller job and I did not do any comparison on the price.

They were timely, paid great attention to detail and were courteous. To be honest, I was surprised at their attention to detail. The quality of the people and the work was excellent.
