"It came as a shock to hear that you did not request aeration service as you were there when we aerated your lawn and you came out when we were half-way finished and purchased a bag of seeds from us. You never mentioned to the crews or anyone in our office that you had not requested service. As a matter of fact, the first we heard of this issue was when we asked for your payment which was 6 months late. Thank you for making payment and we appreciate the many times you regularly hired us to do work for you over the past 3 years. We wish you all the best."
"Hello [Member Name Removed], Thank you so much for your unsolicited review. We have built our company on "old school ethics" which is the "golden rule" - treat others how we would wish to be treated. We want our customers to be with us a long time and we feel if we give our customers fair pricing and do a great job then that will be the best method for customer retention. It is so nice to be appreciated! Hope you have a wonderful Summer! Team at Action Lawn Care, Inc."
"This customer was understandably disappointed that he lost his lawn to fungus disease. However, the disappointment is severely misdirected by the comments made on Angies List. In early June our lawn technician informed him that the early stages of brown patch fungus [lesions on the grass blade] had been observed and action was needed immediately. Our field technician methodically conveyed to him that there was a good probability that he would lose a portion, if not all, of his lawn to the fungus if it was left untreated. Our recommendation was reinforced again in a lengthy email in attempt to inform him of the full consequences of not having the fungicides applied. The homeowner declined not only the fungicide treatments but decided that he would care for his lawn going forward and asked us to provide mow service only. He became irate when it came to pass that he did indeed lose most of his lawn to fungus. This is the email that was sent to Action verbatim: "Regarding the treatment, I think I will pass. I put down Scotts fungicide on Saturday in a panic, despite the strong toxicity warnings, and I feel awful about this. I won't even let my kids play in the backyard until a heavy rain. I also don't want any more synthetic herbicides or fertilizers right now. ......I will try some non-toxic things like cornmeal and sugar. I am sure you can feel my disappointment that this fungus has ruined my investment. Thanks for your understanding"."
Apparently they would send two men a week to work for an hour. They did a good job but we did not realize they were coming out each week.
I cannot believe we had this many more leaves this year.
His wife Darlene has also worked very closely with me to solve our lawn issues. They have also been very sensitive to financial limitations that I have to keep in mind to stay within my budget.
They have certainly earned my trust and my loyalty.
My lawn is not perfect, but it is immensely improved over what three other companies have tried to do and given up with. It continues to improve, and I appreciate all of their efforts.
"The member's statements do not contain the total truth. We have emails from her that contradict what she has written to Angie’s list. She paid us promptly for the landscaping and for the first couple of mows. She also followed up with emails telling us what a fantastic job we did and asked us to continue mowing her son’s lawn and if he could not pay his bill that she would. We mowed his lawn for four months. He made paid for a total one and a half months service and has owed us for the last two months of the season in 2011. We had not heard from her until I sent both of them a letter this winter saying if that if they did not pay us by February that I was going to take both of them to small claims court in an effort to collect the last two months that we mowed his lawn in October 2011."
