Mr. Schmitt took the works back to his shop. He knocked two of the numbers off of the clock face. He glued them back on with (model airplane) glue (which I supplied). The numbers were not glued back exactly where they came off and you can see the glue on the surface of the clock face where the position was adjusted. Mr Schmit had the clock for over a month and when he returned the clock it still didn't chime the "11 O'Clock" hour. I didn't notice it until my wife stayed up late to watch the 11 O'Clock news and noticed that the clock didn't chime on the hour just before the news. Mr. Schmitt did take the clock back to his shop to complete the repairs, but it took another three weeks to complete the repairs. The total time to repair the clock was about two months, which I thought was somewhat excessive, but I did move from a bustling city to a sleepy town in North Carolinas. The price wasn't excessive. It would have cost about the same to have the clock repaired in a major metropolitan area, but I believe the work would have been performed in a more timely manor. I was disappointed in the way the numbers were re-glued back on the face of the clock, but it is more noticeable to me than to a casual observer.
