SCOTT PLUMBING CO

Our house bib burst and water was just pouring out of a light fixture in our finished basement. I called our home warranty service and they sent Scott Plumbing over the next day. Unfortunately, house bibs aren't covered in our warranty and we had to pay a $60 service call per the warranty, but Robert (the plumber) said that we could apply that service call to the repair bill. We set up for him to come the following Tuesday and fix the bib. The allotted time came and went, and Robert called saying that he had underestimated a previous job and would be an hour late. An hour came and went, and Robert called back saying that he was terribly sorry but he could not get to our home that day due to a problem at the job he was on. He was very apologetic and asked when it would be convenient to me for him to come. The only time I had available was an evening after 5:30, but he said he would be there. He should up on time and got the job completed, making very little intrusion in to our finished basement ceiling. He made sure we were satisfied with the work and apologized repeatedly for the delay. His frankness and cordiality definitely won him my business and he is the only plumber that I will ever use.

He found some problems under the kitchen sink and fixed them as well as replacing the inner workings of the toilet that was put back. Work was guaranteed for 30 days and labor for 90 days. At 31 days I noticed that the lid on the replaced toilet was sticking up. When I looked in the tank it was clear that there was a problem with the new internal workings of the toilet. I called the plumber back and asked him to take a look. I didn't notice this sooner because the house was unoccupied and I had been out of town for 14 of the 30 days. He returned and fixed the toilet and sent me a bill for an additional $69.00. I thought it should be covered by the original cost, since the toilet hadn't been used since it was originally fixed. I called and left a message saying I would like to speak to the plumber (Robert Scott) about it. He never returned my phone call. I did however get a very ugly phone call from his wife and office manager. I tried to explain why I didn't think I should have to pay for the additional service call. She was rude, yelled at me and threatened me. She never listened to my concern. Since then I have also gotten a letter asking me to pay. Shortly after the house became occupied, the faucet came off the shower shooting water all over the bathroom and the problem under the kitchen sink reappeared. So his check of the other plumbing was also problematic.
