About us

Everyone at Wake Forest Animal Hospital loves what they do and it shows. You and your pet will leave with a smile (they can smile; we've seen them!). Walk through our doors with your pet and you'll see what we mean. Our facility includes an in-house surgical care unit, grooming department, covered outdoor exercise area and a separate cat ward. But what is most important is the level of care that you can expect from a high quality animal hospital. Our fully equipped surgical facility provides a sterile environment for both major and minor surgical procedures. Patient's vital signs are monitored with modern equipment designed for early detection of any possible abnormalities with their cardiac and respiratory systems. Only the safest, most up-to-date anesthetic protocols are used, thereby minimizing complications for your pet. Providing proper dental care for your pet not only prevents tooth and gum diseases such as cavities, gingivitis and periodontal disease, but also prevents other more serious diseases and problems that are often secondary to neglected dental hygiene. Our modern dental equipment enables us to perform teeth cleaning, polishing and extracting as well as oral surgery. The in-house laboratory is capable of running a wide range of tests for immediate results, including blood cell counts, major organ system evaluations, heart worm and intestinal worm checks, complete urine analysis and tests for various infectious diseases. We also utilize a local veterinary reference laboratory for running a wide range of other tests and blood panels with a very short turnaround time for results. This enables us to provide more tests at a much lower price with a greater degree of accuracy. We've taken steps to make our pet patrons more comfortable. Cat nerves are kept a little calmer in our separate cat ward, away from loud, barking dogs. We know that an unhappy cat makes for an unhappy owner. The pooches appreciate our covered outdoor exercise area. Rain or shine, they can get some exercise and expend some of that energy. But its more than the surroundings that make our hospital comfortable, its the people. Our staff is comprised of true animal lovers, and your pet is the better for it. They'll receive the kind of attention that they're used to at home. Ask any of our clients, everyone at Wake Forest Animal Hospital has an excellent bedside manner. And bring the kids! They'll love our Jungle Lobby, but be sure to take a quick look around. We don't keep you waiting.

They have gotten kind of expensive. They used to be a lot cheaper then they are now. I've been going there for 25 years.  The wait is usually about 5 minutes. They are all fine, the vets. They know what they are doing. They give you all the treatment options. They are thorough.

I have worked with them for a big portion of my life and they are the most compassionate group of people I have ever experienced. They are caring. I have another dog who is diabetic and they got him right down the line. It was time for our dog.

Perfect. We are new to the area and I wanted a cat specialist. Dr. Bennet - one of thee vets there is a cat specialist and has lots of cats of her own. We saw a lot of pleased cat owners while we were there.

Got some new and excellent information about cat food and getting our cat's weight down. Gave me a choice of type of shot and slight risk of 3 year shot.

Met right on time, very quick and efficient. Price is about right for service.

I am very pleased.

Both my dogs received their Bordatella, and one had her ears cleaned and treated for an ongoing infection. The same dog has hard-to-treat skin allergies and during our frequent visits Dr. Mullins is constantly on the lookout for new and helpful treatment. She is a good listener -- and very patient with ME ( an obsessive dog parent) without being condescending. Both my dogs adore her. In fact, the entire staff are compassionate and caring. My dogs are so happy to visit that when we pull into the parking lot they whine and bark to get out of the car and then drag me to the door on their leashes so they can go in and greet everyone. Dr. Mullins and the entire staff are compassionate and thorough -- more so than any vet my dogs and I have experienced. I have nothing but high praise and gratitude for everyone at the Wake Forest Animal Hospital.

Dr. Mullen was patient and answered all my questions. My dog had digestive issues adjusting to her new environment, etc. and Dr. Mullen was great about calling me and us trying to find what works best for my dog to get her on the right track. The staff is very friendly and always willing to answer questions.

I continue to have good experiences with them. Dr. Mullen there, recently saw on of my aging dogs who was have a problem. We tried her on one medication and it didn't work so we tried her on another medication which did work. So now she's able to sleep on our bed again. They're very friendly, very good and very thorough. I do dog rescue ad I've worked with teaching Vets so I;m very knowledgeable about animals and these guys were very good. They also give multiple animal discounts which is also very nice. My first visit was October 24th and the second visit was a blood test for $86 on the 26th of September.

They're excellent. I do dog rescue, sometimes all I have to do is call the vet and tell her what I need and she's great about doing it. Dr. Judy Bennett, Norman Manning and Melissa Norman, all three vets are excellent. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I think their price is probably right in line with all the other vets in the area. I think all vets are a little expensive these days, I know there are some cheaper but you get what you pay for.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Bennett and Wake Forest Animal Hospital! This was my first visit and I loved it! From the moment I walked in the facility was clean, ran smoothly and CALM. They immediately took me back to a room and when the tech took my cat from the carrier noticed he had urinated in the carrier. She actually took the carrier out of the room and cleaned it for me! HOW NICE! That had never been done for me before in a vet practice....my cat had many UTI issues that could never be resolved so I brought him in for a second opinion.
Dr. Bennet was so kind..she asked me to please start at the beginning of the ordeal and go through his whole history from where we got him at to other pets to his litter box habits. We spend a good amount of time finding out the WHOLE picture! She wanted to rule out any medical issues with him so asked if she could keep him for a while to get a good urine sample. I came back later that afternoon, and had found my cat very comfortable and in cleaned out carrier. She had also taken the time to get some mats that he had developed in this rump region from not taking care of himself due to being upset.
Dr. Bennett called later that day to find out how he was doing and then followed up the next morning to give me results of the lab tests. My cat is clear of anything medical and we went with a game plan to rearrange his litter box/style and type. We are also improving his diet and making accomodations to get more water in to him as it was discovered in his urine that he was bit dehydrated. I FINALLY felt like I was listened to about my pet and that my pet is on the road to being normal again. This practice get my A rating because they deserved it!

Exams went smoothly. The vets are all very caring, honest, knowledgeable, and professional. The prices are reasonable, and they thoroughly explained all the options for one of my cats with sterile cystitis without trying to push expensive and unnecessary procedures and tests. I'm glad I found them and will definitely continue to see them!
