St. John Construction, Inc., located in beautiful, historic Wake Forest, NC, is a general contracting company. Dare to dream and we'll take it from there.
It went extremely well. David St. John and his son are punctual, professional, and friendly. They are meticulous and gave a lot of thought to different options that were available to us before they started on any step of the job. For example, removing the wall created a 6-inch gap between the kitchen tile floor and the hardwoods in the dining room, and they had to come up with a transition for the gap. They thought about it, went shopping and bought different types of trims, and presented us with the materials and ideas so that we could come to the decision. They bought and stained a beautiful piece of oak and beveled it very nicely so that the transition looks elegant, when it could have looked very awkward if not executed well. I would highly recommend David St. John for any contracting work, because not only does he do fantastic work, he is a thoughtful person who really listens and cares about your needs.
Description of Work: Removed wall between kitchen and dining room; installed sheetrock on ceiling where the wall was removed; installed a wooden threshold between the two rooms; installed trim (chair rail and floor)

It is a pleasure to write a review for St. John Construction. David and his son, David are true gentlemen. When David says he aims to please, he means it! No detail was too small. The repair they made to the flooring came out spectacular. There was a gap where the wall existed and their solution came out beautiful. They cut, stained and finished a plank of oak that spans the width of the room, covering the gap. It matches the existing wood flooring perfectly! The room looks great! Thank you David and David, Jr for a job well done!
Description of Work: They removed a partial wall, repaired the ceiling where there was a hole left from a beam, repaired the drywall, there were two electrical outlets on the wall that had to be removed as well. They also had to tie together the two different types of flooring that were on the opposite sides of the wall, one wood the other tile.

St John was here frequently keeping an eye on things. He brought in some great people. We're very pleased with the work done. I love my laundry room.
Description of Work: Relocated 1/2 bath, added 42 sq ft, made a laundry room.
This company was referred to us by a mover and they did an excellent job on everything. I was very impressed with the blue prints and the way they fit everything into our budget. The storage space is wonderful addition because it is tucked away in a place that you would never think would be usable space. The price was a little high but it was definitely worth it.
Description of Work: We had an addition put on to the third floor of our townhouse. The bonus room as we call it is about 400 square feet and was basically completely remodeled. Everything was done from the floors to the ceilings. The heating, hardwood flooring, built in cabinets for storage. There was also drywall and lighting installed.

He's not the cheapest, but it's very high quality. You do get what you pay for. You can use a less expensive contractor, but you won't be as happy. He's very committed to working with you, very good communication, and excellent quality.
Description of Work: They converted the third floor attic into an office and a library.
