It went fine. I didn't have any problems with their analysis. Their analysis was thorough. However, I wanted something better than the basic equipment offered by my protection plan.

We hired Mechanical HVAC Services to replace our two units on April 29th, 2015. When they installed the upstairs unit, either the pump switch for the unit was faulty or was installed incorrectly. The switch is used to detect water backing up in the drain and causes the unit to shut off until the water drains. Since it didn?t work or wasn?t installed properly, it caused approximately $5000 of water damage to our home, per the estimation of their own assigned insurance adjustor. Our old units had drain pans that accessed a primary drain and a secondary drain. When the new units were installed, we inquired as to why the drain pan was not accessing the secondary drain. We were told that the pump switch negated the need for the pan to use both drains.
After the water damage occurred, we called Mechanical HVAC to repair the situation. The same installer came back and allegedly repaired the pump switch. When we inquired as to why this had happened, we were told that our primary drain sat next to our dryer vent and that dust and lint were blowing up into the drain causing the water to back up. (Never mind that if this is actually true, which we highly doubt,  it should have been something noted when they first installed the unit, not three weeks later when it became a problem.) In any case, we asked for a different drain pan to be installed, solely to prevent this type of damage from occurring again. The installer said he would look into it, and also said that if we wanted to have an inspector come out and pass the unit and the drain pan as is, he could come back at a later date and cut a hole in the existing drain pan over the secondary drain, but that ?it [wouldn?t] be to code.?
We learned after the fact that Mechanical HVAC never called the Wake County Inspector to come check the work they had completed in the first place. When they installed our HVAC units, we asked if we were in charge of setting up the inspection. The installer said, no, that they would take care of everything. After the damage occurred, we called the Inspectors? office ourselves to see if the HVAC company had even pulled the permits to complete the work, and while we found that they had, they had also neglected to have an inspector come review their work, which left us wondering: If an inspector had come as soon as he or she was supposed to, would the faulty or improper equipment have been detected before causing this damage
to our home? When we asked the Inspectors? Office if anyone had been asked to come out, they told us no, that they had heard from no one at Mechanical HVAC. We then asked if we could set up an inspection ourselves.
After hearing nothing from Mechanical HVAC, we called to ask about the drain pan, and Janelle, who claimed to be the owner, said she hadn?t heard anything about it, and didn?t know what we were talking about. She then chose to ignore our calls and the calls and emails of our personal insurance agent. After roughly a week and a half of no contact, when we finally managed to get her on the phone, she immediately said she couldn?t deal with us and put us on hold to talk to Brian, who also claimed to be the owner. During the first conversation with Brian, he said he would find a new drain pan and that he understood our concerns for wanting one. He said he would call us the next day to let us know what he had found and tell us when we could expect them to come out.
The next day, a Friday, someone named Sheila called and said Brian was out of the office, but wanted to touch base with us and that he would call us first thing Monday morning. By 4:00 Monday afternoon, we still hadn?t heard from Brian, so we called the office yet again. He rudely said that they had found a pan but that they were very busy and did not have time for us, nor did they know when they would be able to get us on their schedule. He wouldn?t look at their schedule or answer any other questions. He then hung up the phone while we were still speaking. We waited another week and a half to try to call them again, to give them the benefit of the doubt. When we called June12th, we were again told that Brian was out of the office and that he would call us when he returned.
We finally had to file a complaint with the State Licensing Board to get any response out of Janelle or Brian, and when we did hear from them, they told us they were not going to replace anything we'd asked for because they didn't have to. Mechanical HVAC is literally the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of hiring. From the time the damage in our home occurred to the time it was actually, finally, repaired, nearly twelve weeks had passed. They met us with resistance every single step of the way. The Wake County inspector had to come to our house on THREE separate occasions because each time Mechanical HVAC came to "repair" something, they left something else that had to be repaired AGAIN. On the final visit, the inspector said, "This is an unprofessional job, and if I could make them redo it completely, I would; but I'm not sure you're going to get anything better than what they've done at this point. It's technically correct, but very sloppy and unprofessional."
If you need a new HVAC unit, call literally ANYONE ELSE. They are THE WORST. If you happen to have a spare twelve thousand dollars lying around and are considering calling Mechanical HVAC to do anything for you, do yourself a favor and just set the money on fire. It will be just as effective and you probably won't have to have all the drywall in your house replaced afterward.

The technician was very thorough as far as I could tell and was very patient with me and my questions. I appreciated that he took his shoes off before entering my home so as not to track in mud or dirt from being under the house. I apologize that I forget his name, I believe it was Jim (?) .

Although the work was performed under the auspices of a Home Warranty, response to the claim scheduling-wise was reasonable especially in light of the current heat wave. There was some rescheduling done due to our repairman calling in sick, but once a firm date and time were established, the repair went smoothly. The technician arrived on time and worked professionally, thoroughly and expeditiously. I paid $100 per terms of the Home Warranty, but suspect that the cost for repairs would have been $500 or more otherwise.

We purchased a new home and one of our units has had several problems. Our warranty company sent HVAC mechanical on several occasions. They ended up replacing the compressor and have had to manually reset the heat and AC (it's a weird system). Even though they have to keep coming back (again, really not their fault), they are always thorough and professional. Janelle (one of the owners) in the office is always pleasant. James and Ted have both worked on our system. Brian (the other owner) has been out to evaluate the system. I like that they are a locally owned, small business. Even though we have our warranty for another year, we plan to sign up for their service plan. They've won our business!

They replaced my 30 yr old electric heat and air system with a new natural gas furnace and a/c unit. Workers were very considerate and polite, always wearing booties over their shoes in the house. Final price was same as quoted. Would definitely recommend them to others.

On Jan 19th I had my 25 yr old Apollo Hydro Swirl water heater replaced. It was covered under my home warranty and i had it replaced by the warranty company's plumber. After it was installed, I had hot water but no heat. This was during the coldest temperatures we had had all season. I called the plumbing company but they refused to come back out and look at the problem saying it must be the heating system. So i called the warranty company again and explained my problem and they sent out Mechanical HVAC. Ted arrived at the scheduled time and inspected my heating system and the new water heater. He contacted Brian (the owner) and they discussed the possible problems and solutions. They figured out that a check valve had been placed on the intake line and it was restricting the flow to the heat exchange. Ted then contacted the plumbing company for me and they sent out a crew the next day and removed the valve and the problem was fixed. Ted's professionalism and willingness to go that extra mile, what some companies preach but don't practice, has made me a customer for life. I called Ted to personally thank him and had him connect me with Brian so i could thank him too. These are not just great HVAC guys but outstanding people too. I don't think an A+ rating is high enough for this company.

Scheduled service through Home Warranty Co but was told that they couldn't fit me into the schedule for a few days but would try to move us up due to the sweltering heat. Kristi called back the next morning and had a knowledgeable technician, James, at our house by early afternoon. He was courteous, quick and very professional and our problem was solved within 24 hours of fist contacting Mechanical HVAC. Couldn't recommend more highly.

We have a service contract that sent another company to and quot;fix' our heater. After 2 attempts and one major error, I requested another company. We were thankfully sent Mechanical HVAC Services, who promptly diagnosed the problem, fed exed the part (knowing how long we had waited for heat given the 2 failed attempts from the other company) an

Generally very well, very knowledgeable and professional and cared about the work performed. There were times where the provider was slow getting to us, I feel that sometimes they took on more work than they could adequately handle. But the services provided, we were very happy with.

I was set up with mechanical hvac by my home warranty provider. they called me first thing in the morning and provided me a number of appointment times. the serviceman called me prior to arrival just to make sure i had ample time to get home. diagnosed the problem quickly, came out a week later to replace the evaporator coil. work was done quickly, and very cleanly, leaving no mess. since it was warranty service, i can't speak for price, but because everything went so well, i would likely call them and ask for pricing on non-warranty service.

He now does my maintenance for me twice year. They will actually contact me when it is time to make an appointment for maintenance. They were on time. They did have one issue when someone was sick, but they called and reschedule immediately. I understand that things happen, but I appreciated that they called.
