IMPORT QUALITY REPAIRS INC

I've had numerous small issues and one large issue with my two vehicles. Each time I drop a vehicle off I'm greeted in a friendly and professional manner. It never takes long for me to get a call explaining what has been found and explaining my options and the prices with those options. Once given the OK, the work is done quickly and prices are always fair. I've never had to take a vehicle back because of poor quality work and the repair has always resolved the problem.
On one visit my car radio had quit working so I took it into the shop. I got a call telling me no problem was found and the radio is working fine. When I picked up the vehicle I mentioned that the problem has been intermittent and that I would see him soon when it happened again. The response was,"If you are having constant problems that come and go I recommend changing the radio. I checked all the wiring and nothing is wrong and I have heard there were some issues with the radios in this particular model of vehicle."
My cost for checking the wiring? $0.00. He wouldn't accept any money. He explained that he didn't have to repair anything and he wasn't going to charge me anything. I replaced the radio a week later and for several months it has been working with no issues so the advice was sound. I guess the power supply in the radio was intermittently shorting out.
If you want a hard working, honest, professional, knowledgeable mechanic maintaining your vehciles then you couldn't do much better.

My car was making a tapping noise when it turned left at corners. Soon thereafter the "Check Engine Soon" light came on.

I took the car to the local Infiniti dealer. When we got there, there were 3 male employees along the counter, none of whom were smiling. Upon reflection, I think that was telling in and of itself. Infinit charged me $115 just to tell me the code for the Check Engine Light, and $85 for a synthetic oil change. When I got home and looked on the Infiniti repair estimator website, the part the dealer said needed to be replaced based on the check engine light did not even exist. The non-existence of this part was later verified by another mechanic.

But the Infiniti website did say that the Check Engine light might come on if there was an issue with the oil, and that the light should be reset and then the car driven and then checked to see if the light came on again. I immediately called Infiniti to ask if they had done this, all they said was, “The car needs the part.” They wanted to charge $407 to replace the "part" they said related to the check engine light.

Then they told me all these other things were wrong with the car, totaling another $700. So I called them and told them not to do anything else to the car. I took the car to Import Quality Repair, who had an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau website. Import Quality Repair reset the Check Engine light for me for free, test drove the car and the light didn’t come back on. So the $407 repair for this non-existent part was not necessary.

All of the work done by Import Quality Repair totaled $365 for parts, labor and tax. So, basically, Infiniti wanted to charge me $1100 for all the other repair issues (beyond the oil change) that they had identified, and this guy charged $365 for all the other issues that he identified. By the way, it’s a month later and the Check Engine light is still off.

I'm so happy to have found a new mechanic that I can trust in the Wake Forest area.
