Worst contractor experience. This contractor was hired by the listing agent on the house we purchased and the agent got them paid BEFORE the work was done. They were to make repairs as agreed to by the sellers ( who had left the money in escrow after receiving estimates). First, the problems started trying to get them to do the work. They are terrible at communicating. They were due to come out July 12 to do the repairs. (appointment had been made 3 weeks prior). They did not show. I had to track them down via phone and email, and it took 8 days after, to schedule them to come out. They came with an 'invoice' of work they were 'paid for'. In his words "You have us for $1284 worth. That is all we will do". Very, very unprofessional in their conduct. Of the work they did do, very little inspired confidence. The contractor had to be on the phone constantly with someone who was walking him through the electrical system of the house. Several of the work that was to be done was overlooked (including 1 leaky faucet, 2 jammed doors, and 1 unsealed window). I am never working with them again. I wish I had joined AL sooner - I would have seen the D and F they had received previously.
Description of Work: 1. Changed 3 siding panels with fiber cement 2. Made Electrical Repairs (reverse polarity, fixed GFIC problem) 3. Cleaned gutters 4. Replaced trim on 2 windows 5. Fixed locks on doors 6. Replaced faucet pipe

The two painting visits were rather routine without any issues. These visits were handled buy Mr. Lail and another worker. The second visit they did get a bit of blue paint on the carpet, but that wasn't a huge deal. Since these two visits, I have engaged HMI to finish out our basement bathroom. They showed up to look it over and agree that it was a rather simple job; however, they then back peddled and said they would need their plumber to come out and look at everything before we could get a price. Their plumber came out and couldn't make heads or tails of the plumbing system that was already in place. HMI left it on us to figure out what was going on and get back with them. We eventually had to pay Roto Rooter to come out and video the lines to figure out what was going on. We have never heard back from HMI.
Description of Work: I've used HMI twice to paint a number of rooms in my house, (approximately 3 rooms the first visit and 4 rooms and a ceiling on the second) most of which had vaulted ceilings and would be difficult for an average home owner to perform. I've also engaged them on finishing a basement bathroom in our house.

They were great at the planning part. I wanted the break down of the pricing for everything and the room got silent. I never heard back from them and I try to reach them several times.
Description of Work: They came to give us an estimate on remodeling our house.
