All American Hardwood Flooring

These guys were fabulous! We were told that because our floors are store-made, no work could be done on it. Ted said that this was not the case and was able to work on our floors. He was prompt and super. The floors look fabulous and our realtor was raving about our floors. I've even recommend them to our friends.

I hired Ted to sand and re-stain my existing hardwood floors downstairs, and to remove carpet and install about 1200 square feet of new hardwoods upstairs.  I really shopped around and interviewed several contractors.  Ted sells you on the training he takes from the national hardwood association.  He was responsive and professional until I paid him and we were about half way through the project.  At that time, after collecting most of what I owed him, Ted became unresponsive and the qualify of his work became poor.  I found out he employed his to teenage nephews to stain my floors. They made a mess getting stain on the walls and the marble.  i had drips and uneven stain throughout the house.  Ted also installed floors over a metal beam that became moldy and I had to pay to have removed and reinstalled correctly.  When I brought in a new contractor to replace the work that Ted had done they told me that I had been horribly cheated.  Bottom line is stay away from Ted and his company.  The qualify of the work is extremely poor and he does not stand by his workmanship.

Ted was very professional, making excellent suggestions for improving our vents.  I really appreciated that he uses top of the line BONA hardwood floor varnish which is low VOC, water based.  The fumes were not that bad compared to normal oil-based varnishes.  Our floors look brand new and there was very little dust. Ted paid attention to my concerns about removing scratches in certain areas, and the floors are now perfect!  I also liked the fact that Ted does all the work with his assistant which was important to us since we had to leave our house for a week and we were concerned about the security of our home.  I stopped by each day to check in and always found everything in order.  I did not want some random crew at our house every day while we were not there (and all our furniture in the garage). I would highly recommend All-American Hardwood for your flooring needs.

The overall experience was outstanding. Ted assured us that he would be able to blend the new flooring into the existing flooring seamlessly. He was right! He offered to create a customized inlay at the fireplace hearth, and it's just beautiful. We wanted a darker finish and little sheen on the final product, and Ted delivered. We couldn't be happier and look forward to having the staircase and upper hallway done.

We found Ted from his website, which is very professional. He provided an estimate immediately, very reasonable for the quality of work he does. He explained everything the whole way, was exceptionally clean, prompt and communicative. His work was impressive, matching the color and grain, as well as the lines from the floor in the adjoining room. His professionalism even showed in the shoe molding he installed. He was exceptionally clean and courteous the whole time. My husband and I both work from home, and Ted was no intrusion at all. The finished floor exceeds all our expectations. We cannot recommend him enough.

Went OK, but not a top notch sanding and finishing person

Booked the appointment on-line and got a call right away to confirm time and date and provide me with the name of the sales person to meet at home. Sales person was punctual and very professional, even though they do not have a huge variety of hardwood floor types, he got what we needed and at a very good price. Availability for installation was also very good. Once agreed on product, service and date, I received a detailed estimate and after signing installation was done a week after. They crew came and we checked on the product, had some concerns about the type so called the sales person right away, He answered my questions and also stopped by to check on everything. Once happy, crew continued by removing existing floors very carefully and also moved big furniture. They completed the installation on time and left after cleaning all floors and looking great. I did call them after installation (1 month) to request some extra product I asked for to cover a section it was going to be remodeled and they sent it right away with also additional trimming at no charge. Since then I've only received compliments on how nice my floors look like and I'm very happy with the experience. We called them again to ask for estimate to replace the carpet on second floor and stairs, but unfortunately again, they only have a limited variety and we couldn’t find what we wanted, but price, service proposed and sales man professionalism were excellent. I will recommend them and use them again .
