Arrived for evaluation of project and to estimate cost of job on the same day that I called him. Professional approach and discussed that he would "sub" the re-mortaring of front steps under his watch. Came with his one other co-worker to evaluate job. Discussed the importance of performing the work only when weather temperature and rain status could be accurately predicted. Emphasized that it was critical to avoid rainy situation when placing gravel correctly for compacting. Discussed that he had major equipment to cut and remove concrete. Discussed options for removing or repairing concrete and made recommendations based on his expertise.
The job required two full (>10 hours) days of labor and due to a prior commitment, I could not be present during the first day. The project went exactly as he predicted. He cleaned up after himself....with no lawn markings from the heavy equipment that had to be used for the project. All cement was hauled away. Meticulous workmanship involved for the entire project. During the second day, I was consulted on the placement of timbers along the front walkway to avoid injury to ornamental plantings and an older tree that was "in the way".
The entire project lasted just as he predicted--2 days. Cost estimate and actual project price were close. Excellent workmanship.
