I supposed the timing could have been a little bit better. Some of the things that they delivered had a stain on it. Probably because the box ripped in the truck. When they were moving it around. That was a small problem. They came earlier than expected. They got my furniture beforehand before I requested it.

Do not use D&D Movers. You will get ripped off and treated badly. After being referred to D&D, I called to get a quote on April 20 for a move on May 21 from Houston to College Station. I spoke to a very friendly person named Ricky who said he would manage my move. I completed the online form detailing my belongings. Ricky verbally quoted $1200 which included some packing. He could not quote me a final price because they get paid by the hour. He estimated that the move would take 12 hours. He also said he would do his best to not go over this price and would even try to save me money, depending on how many hours the move took. Big talker. In the interim, I sold a lot of furniture and household items and I packed everything myself. Ricky and 3 movers arrived on May 21 (on time). They rushed through the move not giving me time to think or make decisions. I had to ask Ricky not to be rude and bossy. He was defensive. I saw one of the movers smoking and checking his phone a couple of times. They banged up my walls even after my telling them to be careful. Once all was loaded, Ricky approached me to sign the contract and quoted a flat rate of $1400. I reviewed the contract but couldn?t concentrate due to Ricky talking non-stop. He wouldn?t let me ask questions. He asked me if my next door neighbor (who stopped by) was my husband. He was blatantly trying to intimidate me with chaos and distraction (and was successful). I signed and decided to talk to him about the breakdown of the bill once the entire move was complete and I was ready to pay. In College Station we dropped off furniture at my apt. and at a storage unit. Ricky remembered moving the friend who referred me into the main house. There were 22 boxes in the apartment that needed to be moved into the garage. Ricky and his team were highly agitated about moving the boxes. Ricky spoke to me very curtly. The move into the storage unit was fine but rushed. Ricky was obviously upset when I told him I would pay with a credit card. He rudely said I would have to follow him back to the main office. Once at the office, I asked him to see a copy of the detailed bill and he went off on me. Basically yelled at me and told me what a good deal I got. I tried to tell him that I didn?t appreciate him being rude but he insisted on being defensive and speaking abruptly with me. I was very upset when I left. So, it cost $1400 to move a one bedroom apartment in 9 hours, plus they 1) didn't have to move as much to begin with since I had sold so many of my belongings, including a sectional couch I decided to leave in the last minute, 2) didn't have to pack anything, 3) didn't have to assemble or deassemble any furniture. This was a fairly easy move and Ricky knew it, yet he complained and rushed the entire day. I did pay the $1400 but have put a call into the owner to discuss and will file a complaint with the BBB. Ricky was, simply put, unprofessional.

They drank and drove. It was supposed to be a 1 day move. It turned into a 2 day move into the late hours, into the Fourth of July. They finished moving us in about 2 am on the 4th. They broke things, threw things into the dumpster that we did not direct them to throw away. They broke my father's radio by putting it face down at the bottom of a dish pack and put things on top of it. They seem to go in tandem over our apartment, dropping things in various boxes. I have a box marked kitchen. After going through the box, the only thing kitchen was the salt and pepper shaker. The owner of the business came to our apartment and said it would be one day move for $2,000 after looking at everything. He said he would send five or six movers. The team that showed up the first day had the supervisor and 2 movers. The second day they showed up with 4 movers and the same supervisor. They used and consumed items from our freezer and refrigerator without being told it would be ok. When it came time to pay the supervisor, they went to my husband rather than myself. I had been the one arranging everything. The cost of $2,000 changed to $4,125. They complained throughout the whole day because they were supposed to have it off, and it seemed like they took it out on our items. They were also very noisy. People in the apartment complex were complaining to the manager. I'm not sure how they are still in business. They had food delivered, and some things brought that they left just the trash scattered in the parking lot. Do not use these people under any circumstances. They did not even have moving vans. They used what looked like an all enclosed horse trailor hooked to a pickup truck.

They kept my items for two nights. One of the items that they removed from my home and moved to my apartment was a GE Dryer. The dryer they delivered to me was not the same dryer they took out of my home. The dryer that was in my previous home was purchased from Lowes and I have the serial number, model number, etc and the canceled check from Lowes, and it does not match the dryer they delivered to me. I called them and sent them all the documentation and they refused to do anything about it. I was asking for the cost of the original dryer purchased in 2006, and they refused and will not do anything about it.
