Photography
I have paid far too much for expensive photography, only to be less-than-thrilled with the outcome. You will not have to worry about this with Briana. I have repeatedly been amazed with not only her photographic "eye" and creativity, but her genuine passion for this art. Now, let's get to the nitty gritty. My husband is terribly un-photogenic. He usually looks like a sad puppy in pictures and he sits for portraits only because he knows it matters to me. Any photographer who can get him to not just laugh, but look natural, capture his candid moments (his smile is one of my favorite things!) and get him to say, "I never knew photography could be so cool and fun!" after our styled session is a photographer to whom I will return. I have tested the waters with other photographers in the area and sought recommendations from friends of mine who visited others in the central/eastern NC region. Their photos either looked over-photoshopped or my friends told me how boring and discouraging their experiences were, especially when their photogs sat them down for proofing/pricing. Briana deserves more for her work- her prices are some of the most humble I've seen. She should be in the thousand dollar range for weddings and the several-hundreds for her engagement, newborn, styled sessions, etc. BUT SHE'S NOT. One of the best part of hiring her is when she hands you a disc with your favorite images on a cd, full, large-sized RAW (that's a file format, doesn't mean unedited) files wrapped like a little gift. Some of her portrait sessions even include print credits in the pricing.
Now let's talk about the sessions themselves. From the time I first contacted her, I was taken by the hand and whisked into a wonderland of beautiful scenery. I remember sending her an email, something along the lines of, "I have an idea of outdoor photography but don't know where to go...we kinda like this, and this, and I just want it to be romantic." Done. No questions asked. She knew just the place, and we met at a spot that wasn't a hotspot for every basic photog in the area. It was a cottonfield at sunset. Our pictures look like their straight out of pinterest or some award-winning magazine. I have one framed in my office at work and you just don't know how many people walk in and compliment it when they see it. Briana doesn't just capture pics, she captures MOMENTS and uses the essence of LIGHT. I mean "light" in more than one way...the light of the sunset, the light our of emotions as my husband and I stood, whispering sweet-nothings in a cottonfield. She brings props, ideas, skill and knows how to serve her clients... a skill that many photographers lack. I've encountered several who seemingly forgot that half their job is interacting with the clients.
Her work speaks for itself. Just check out her page and you'll see what I mean. Briana is down to earth, makes you not just feel comfortable, but relaxed and natural in whatever element you want. Her editing time is prompt and the outcome is 100% happiness on both ends. Don't use the photog on Facebook who's a shameless promoter of their less-than-adequate iPhone photography...no matter how many "magnetic lenses" they have. Contact a professional, a photographer who is your friend and invests her heart into what she does, to create art that you'll keep for a lifetime.
