AM Carter Construction renovated our kitchen and two bathrooms and the results surpassed our expectations. I had multiple contractors come in for bids, and Adrian was by far the most thorough and thoughtful in his estimate. He listened to what I said and noted every detail. I especially appreciated that he (kindly) questioned some of my ideas because he had better and, frankly, less expensive alternatives. He knows every aspect of every part of the work involved in a given project and manages to keep tabs on all of them. He leaves the workspace exceptionally clean at the end of each day and communicates consistently throughout the project. He kept me abreast of potential issues or complications as they arose and was quick to offer solutions. For example, when his team was removing old carpet and trim, they found active termites in the baseboards. Before the end of that workday, Adrian had called his expert termite remover and priced out the additional work needed. We had the entire house treated and did not even lose a workday. I am thrilled with our remodel and recommend AM Carter Construction without hesitation.

The work that he did was OK. I couldn't ask him a question. I would ask him a question and he would just blew off the handles and cursed me out for about five minutes. It was crazy. He wanted to do things that were unsafe, like put insulation down in the attic without raising the attic floor. I am a nurse practitioner and I've had people fall through the attic and change their entire life because they've had so many broken bones and concussions and brain injuries. The subcontractors and the painters he brought in did an absolutely horrendous job and I did not want them to come back. I could literally peel paint off the baseboards. He made up a lie and told me that they had to come in and finish, because I went in hired a painter that I found on Angie's List. I've actually got to get my plumber back in here. Two pieces of plumbing have fallen apart in the bathroom from his subcontractor. And he actually built a cabinet for someone else under my deck. I guess he thought I did not see it. Then when I ask him what it was for, he just never bothered to answer me. I just think that was very unethical to build cabinets for someone else's project in my home. There are still four large pieces of wood down there that he never cleaned up. As they were tearing sheet rock out, he never put up any barriers. I am still cleaning up the sheet rock dust. Afterwards I had to pick up the construction debris. He did not clean up anything. It was sheet rock dust throughout my entire house. I had to clean out my entire closet off the master bathroom, because he did not put up barriers. He was so obnoxious. I couldn't talk to him or question him about anything. He wanted me to order everything off of line and go to the cheapest places with no selections. He wanted me to get everything from Bill.com and I don't like doing that. I like to see things that I am going to have installed when I am spending that much money. I wanted to use the building supply company that I've used before and he told me that it would take two or three weeks to get things done. When I finally got listings from him and went to the building supply company here, they had things in stock and they could ship them to me within two or three days. Because I didn't listen to him, he got very angry. I told him upfront that I consider it my house and I am paying for it. I know what I want and I will tell you what I want and if you can't handle that, don't take the job. He said he could handle it, and yet he couldn't. I don't think I was unreasonable, because I would ask him before the framing was up or walls were up. I was asking him for options. And who else am I going to ask for options except the contractor? He thought I was making everything into a crisis. He would get upset if you ask him a question. He couldn't deal with any changes or anything. His quality of the construction that he did, and the tile work, was very good. But the subcontractors, his plumber and the painters, were terrible. I would tell people to go with someone else. The contractor himself was punctual. He got finished on time.
