Professional Tree Service

After a promising initial conversation and seeing a positive review on another web site, these guys agreed to come out and give me a quote for removing a storm damaged tree that was blocking my driveway. They never showed up at the agreed upon time, did not answer their phone or call me back. Lost an entire days progress resolving my problem waiting on these guys and hired a competitor.

Not well. We don't this contractor knocking on doors in our neighborhood again.

The trees were two large oaks in a back yard, inaccessible with a cherry picker, so i needed a service that had climbers.  Professional Tree service did a good job taking the trees down but the cleanup and  follow thru left much to be desired.  My problem is that the written contract was very general (i should have requested far more specificity), so agreements on a lot the follow thru work items to be done was verbal.  The agreement was that i'd remove the firewood, and Professional Tree Service would remove the big stuff.   It ended up the trunks were removed, but the wood towards the stumps were left as well as the large pieces where the limbs spread from the major trunk, both parts of which required special equipment i did not have.  I made repeated calls to the owner over a two week period, finally got him over, and after a lot of complaining and excuses, he started cutting on one of the 6 major pieces needing cutting up.  Fifteen minutes into the job, his chain saw broke, he left, and I've not seen him since.
He also charged $200 more for grinding the stumps than he quoted.
Bottom line is that while the company is technically competent at tree removal, the customer service, clean-up, follow-thru, and responsiveness aspects leave much to be desired.
