A while back I had Lowes send someone to my house to provide an estimate for a new door installation. The guy that came out was extremely helpful and professional. We ended up not having the work done, but because of his professionalism and attitude, I thought he would be a great fit for some other work we were going to have performed now. I lost the business card that was provided, so I contacted Lowes who told me it was JB Construction, and they provided me with a phone number. Unfortunitly, the number was no longer in service, so I did a little digging on the internet and found a different phone number (same 336 area code) as the company I had looked for. When I called that number for the JB Construction located in Thomasville, I explained how I came across his number, and that I wasn't sure if he was the gentleman that came to my house previously to provide an estimate through Lowes. He stated he was and remembered stopping by my house to do so. Based on his confirmation, I proceeded to explain the work that I wanted him to perform and asked if he would stop by to quote it. After a few days of playing phone tag, we did catchup on Wednesday and decided to meet on Friday, but the exact time would have to be determined on Thursday. On Wednesday I gave him my address. No issues. On Thursday when he called it was as if he had no idea who I was. I asked if he had my address still, and he read it back to me, but it was some other address, not even in high point. I suggested maybe he had the wrong file. He then asked if I was so and so, which I was not. So then I proceeded to give him all my information once again. He then agreed to meet at 1:00 at my house. On Friday, I arrived at my house from work a few minutes before 1:00. By 1:05, I figured I would call him in case he was lost. No answer, so I left him a message, just incase he was driving. By 1:15, he still had not shown up, so again I left him a message, this time reminding him that he had a meeting at 1:00 and if he couldn't make it, to let me know. By 1:30 he still had not shown up, so I left him yet another message. I asked that he contact me, as I needed to get back to work. The guy just never showed, and never returned my calls. In the end, I think I may have called the wrong JB Construction, however, that isn't an excuse for taking credit for someone elses previous positive experience, nor a reason to agree to meet with someone, just to be a no show. I have no idea what type of actual work this JB Construction in Thomasville does, but the guy clearly is a liar, and doesn't have the decency to call someone back to fess up, or just say they are not going to be able to make it or provide an estimate for services.
