The installers had to come back three times to get the bathroom installation correct. They didn't install enough tile the first time and there was a one inch wide by eight inch long gap after the new cabinet was installed. The cabinet had to be removed in order for them to fix the gap. The next issue was a gap around the toilet after the toilet was installed. I had pointed out these issues prior to anything being install and was told "it'll be fine". Well it wasn't. The bathroom does look great now. The grout they repaired in the dining area and kitchen started breaking up after one week. The owner came over after I called about the grout breaking up and returned my money for the repair work and told me that the sub-flooring under the ceramic tile in the dining area and kitchen was the wrong sub-flooring. In order for the tile not to continue to crack the tile would have to be completely removed and the correct sub-flooring installed. It would have helped if I had been told this from the beginning. This was a very small job in my home. I truly believe had this been a bigger job I would not have had these issues because other people in my area have used this company without any problems, but not me.

Lots of excuses as to why they could not lay floor when promised - i.e. Thanksgiving, wrong product showed up, had to reorder product from company further away, etc. When installer finally showed up, he left in middle of job for an another appointment, when it could (should) have been done in one day. Fast forward to a year later when there is a problem with one of the boards. We have gone into Al Barnes directly three separate times and asked to be called so we can get this fixed. Secretary takes message and assures that Jamie will call but after three weeks, there is still not a call. Each time we go back, she assures us that Jamie got the message. The company also installed the flooring in our new home for the developer. We've had problems with the tiles in both bathrooms and getting him to respond to warranty work was also very difficult. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Warranty work and backing your products is as important as selling the product. This company does not back their products and installation. Buyer Beware.

Areas of sub-floor was not leveled prior to installation of underlayment resulting in unlevel floor. Used high gloss seam sealer on a low gloss vinyl. Layed the vinyl in opposite direction of seam resulting in a dramatic difference in color. Failure to return phone calls and take action toward correcting the error of using the wrong seam sealer. Overall very unhappy with Al Barnes Carpet and will never recommend nor use this business again. Hope Angie's List will keep others from using this dealer of Armstrong Sheet Vinyl Floorings. We grade this dealer an F for lousy installation and an additional F for overall customer service.
