My next door neighbor was having their yard landscaped by Appalachian Creek Nursery. I attempted to hire the owner, Jeff Seitz, to continue one of my neighbor's projects into my yard. He was extremely rude, obnoxious and discourteous. He blew me off entirely and when I asked why he was acting this way he told me to just "F*@k off"! Obviously, I was shocked and confused. I have never had anyone speak to me like that before especially when I was attempting to hire someone for a job. Mr Seitz had the opportunity to apologize many times and did not do so.
In conclusion, I assume that if he treats and talks to people he doesn't' know this way I would hate to see how he conducts business! Be careful who you decide to hire to do your landscape work!
"[removed member name] had 3 rhododendron that had developed a fungus. His wife called on the phone and described the condition at that time I said it was probably a fungus. Thirty minutes later she brought in a branch and I confirmed that was the problem. I explained that with the record rain we have had in Asheville this spring was the likely culprit and the problem could be easily fixed by spraying a fungiside on the leaves and removing the ones that were badly infected.I also said that it would have to be done when no rain was expected. She stated that she would like me to do that and I replied that I would stop by and spray the next time we were on that side of town. This was wendsday. Friday she called and left a message wanting to know what I was going to do about her plants ( my largest show was that weekend and I did not get the message until monday) It had rained all weekend and I could not spray it would have been no use. She called Monday and left a message and her tone was less than pleasant to say the least. So I did not call her back . Se called again on wendsday and had her husband call me on Friday which I took the call, but explained that I was selling at the Farmers market and could not talk to him there. He went completely off saying I was recomended and needed to get out and fix his 3 rhodendrons. The loudness of his voice I just sat the phone down in the truck and continued to wait on my customers. The installation was in September of 2012 and this was May. My crew leader went back in Sept. when the homeowner called and the reason the plants looked bad then was a lack of water. We installed six plants from the same grower in another job and they are all fine. We did not bring fungus it would have not taken this long to show up. My warranty states we are not responsable for disease as does any other landscapers. I have hundreds of satisified clients and have been in business for 13 years. I am sorry this has happened over 3 plants, but at some point the homeowner needs to accept some responsability and patience. Jeff Seitz owner Appalachian Creek"
