We were put in contact with this company through our home warranty.  They did not contact us to schedule service, we had to repeatedly call them.  Once we finally did get a date scheduled for service, no one showed up and didn't call to say they weren't coming.  When I called back about this they did send someone out who did diagnose the problem and submitted the info to the home warranty company and we did get the new appliance, but no one ever came out to install it, despite telling us they would come on a certain day, and again, no call to say they weren't coming and no followup call at all.  I can't imagine how this company stays in business.

I am the landlord of a condo in Asheville and called Able Appliance to repair a refrigerator that was not keeping things cool. Items were thawing and the tenant of the condo which I manage was becoming quite frustrated.
As I am not on-site, I specifically asked the Able to keep me informed of any assessment as to the issues with the refrigerator and to evaluate whether it needed to be replaced.  After 4 visits and the replacement of a defroster unit and (2) control boards, the unit still failed to keep things cool so I gave up and replaced the refrigerator.
Aside the fact that they were uanble to properly diagnose/repair the problem, I am annoyed that, despite promises from the company that the Technician would call the tenant to arrange for the visits and call me with an assessment of the possible need to replace the unit and promises to call the tenant, I never received calls and had to intervene to schedule the repair appointments and find out what what was going on.
4 visits, no calls and a broken refrigerator. "UN-Able" is the appropriate name for this Appliance Service.

Very well.  Somone was available to take my call in the morning and I was told a technician would call me back and let me know his schedule.  I let them know how worried I was about all my food going to waste.  The technician called within a couple of hours and then came out promptly.  He determined the part that  needed to be replaced that controls the cooling and left my home to purchase it.  When he returned he had my freezer and refrigerator unit working within the hour.  He was very pleasant and I felt charged me fairly.  I would use this company again.  Thank heavens someone responds to emergency calls like this!

Able Appliance Services LLC was so horrible that it was shocking to me. I ended up spending nothing with them because they didn?t repair the dehumidifier. They initially told me that it will take a week?s time. When I called in after a week, they told me that it will take another week. This kept going on for two months, maybe more. After a while they told me that they were unable to fix it. I finally had to call the company that I bought the dehumidifier from and they ended up sending me a replacement. Able Appliance service was just totally irresponsive. If I hadn?t hounded them they probably wouldn?t even get back to tell me that they can?t fix it. They were totally unhelpful. It was a waste of my time, my waiting and a waste of being patient. They kept giving me excuses for not being able to fix the dehumidifier. Everything in my basement was turning moby. It was awful. All they had to do was just to be upfront with me.

We had called two highly rated listed appliance repair shops about our Sub-Zero refrigerator's loss of cooling capacity, but were told that they don't do that brand or wouldn't come because of the distance. We then called Able Appliance and were assigned to Don. He called back in about an hour, got the serial number and date, did the diagnosis on the phone, then quoted the labor at $250 and the part for free as it was under warranty and would be in in 2-3 days. We set the appointment for then, and Don showed up on the dot. He went right to work, did the repair, tested out the new installation, and was clean and neat the entire time. You could tell that he was careful and not rushing. He took 3 hrs to do the job absolutely right and the bill was $250. The refrigerator is running super and it was a joy to have such a professional job in every way.

We discovered a gas leak in our range in March. Called Able Appliance, they sent a person out. Initially he thought that the regulator needed to be replaced. Ordered the part, came back and installed it. That didn't fix the problem. Called him back out several times. Each time, he thought he had fixed it, but the leak was still there. I finally just gave up on them, it was obvious that they were unable to actually fix the problem.

Rushing to get dinner on the table, I threw open the freezer and had a sinking feeling when I noticed that the automatic ice maker had absolutely no ice in it. Next, I poked the "frozen" turkey breast and found that it was beyond defrosted. It was actually warm. I phoned a repairman who had been highly recommended and got an answering machine. I left a message at 6PM on a Thursday evening. By 8:30 AM the next day, I took out the phone book and just took a chance. Happily, I was not disappointed. First off, a real person answered and took down pertinant information. Within an hour Don Young, the repairman/ owner was standing in my kitchen with his toolbox in hand. He was cheerful, courteous and very professional. In short order, he figured out that the compressor relay switch needed to be replaced. He went down to his truck for the part, did the job, and was done in less than an hour. Don even took the time to show me how to pull off the cover to clean my refrigerator coils. The repair work has a 30 day guarantee, the parts have 90 days. I would definitely call Able Appliance first the next time that I need an appliance serviced.
