Set In Stone did a beautiful job building a natural stone wall in our backyard. The quality of the stone is excellent and very attractive. Originally, my wife and I engaged Alex Rivera and his crew - Juan, Lando, and William - to build a new low retaining wall for our front yard. Being impressed by the quality of their work, we asked Alex to inspect the basement brick columns of our 100-year-old house. Oh boy, are we glad we did that, as Alex identified a serious problem, that the house was resting on a number of temporary jack posts, while the existing columns were resting on compacted soil and not actually supporting the floor due to settlement. So, over many days, Alex and his crew patiently rebuilt the columns with new concrete bases and set the floor back on them as well as repaired the structural skirting walls around the house. We liked their work so much that we extended the contract to repoint the brickwork of the entire house including the chimney. We were especially impressed by Alex for proposing the most suitable technical solutions while keeping in mind of the cost implications. As a former practising architect and a retired professor of architecture, I can confidently say that their work is outstanding in every way, and will recommend him to anyone who needs masonry services.
