MUFFLER CLINIC & BRAKE CTR

We have a 2002 Subaru Outback that had the check engine light come on. The dealer said it was the catalytic converter and quoted over $1500. We took it to the Muffler Clinic and they replaced it for $731.  But the check engine light came on again. They reset it but a few days later it came on again. They reset it and yet again it came on in a few days. So, we took it to a Subaru specialist who said that the part (the converter) would never pass (our inspection was due) and the light would keep coming on. He put a new one on (for $1200) and the car passed inspection. We told all this to Rick the owner at Muffler clinic. He was surprised that the converter he put on was a problem - said they never had one fail before. We returned the part and he quickly and pleasantly refunded all of our money - parts and labor. So, even though we didn't get the repair we wanted initially - the service was good and they stood by their work.

Everything was fine.  They gave me a fair price.  They did the job quickly and efficiently.  I was in and out.

I still do not have my car fixed, I could not get it to pass inspection, they did not let me know I could get a waiver from the DMV, I had to hear about that from the State Trooper who pulled me for having an expired tag which lead me to a morning in traffic court and fees.
