Company (Wally) gave an estimate for the fence repair......seemed reasonable so I chose them to do the work. They wanted 1/2 $ up front then other 1/2 at job completion. They said they wouldn't schedule the work until they had received the first half payment. Now I know why. Made the first payment ($225.00) and it went downhill from there. Finally got on their schedule but they canceled after I called to make sure they'd be there. Would have been nice if they had called me but I don't even think I was actually on their schedule as they had told me. Don't know. Couple weeks later get an email that they will be there on Sept 19. Two 'kids' show up on Sept 18 ! asking my daughter who happened to be home, what work was needed. They didn't even know what work had been agreed upon. If they had come on the day I was told I would have been home and able to help. They did just a fraction of the work agreed upon and left. Spoke to Wally about when they'd come back to finish the job a couple of times and have never heard from them since ! Nice bunch. So, less than half the work got done for 1/2 the $,but more importantly they wasted weeks of my time in getting this work done....or in this case not done.

Installation of backyard 4 ft. tall black aluminum fence with 2 gates. All posts in concrete. Very satisfied with installation.

We were very pleased with the professionalism of Walley and his team. From the very beginning they worked hard to deliver the quality fence that we wanted. We had a little bit of a challenge creating a custom wooden gate based on a photo from web. Walley very patiently worked with me to get the final product to look they way that I had envisioned. He is great to work with and has a wonderful team. We would definitely hire/recommend him again.

Carmichael Fence did a tremendous job installing a fence at our new home. Wally and his crew were punctual and professional the entire job. The end product exceeded our expectations. If I have any fencing needs in the future I am definetely calling them BACK!

We were told the fence would take a week to install. Actual time elapsed was over 2 months. There was confusion about what the actual pool code was for fencing once we began the installation. We had to engage the county inspection office to provide us copies of the pool fencing code. The gates were ordered incorrectly at first, then one of the gates was damaged. The quality of the fence is sub-standard. Many of the screws became loose and fell out (many, many times). Even now as I look out at the very expensive fence, there is a picket missing a screw.
Wally is a terrific person and kept trying until he got the job done, but the fence quality is not worth of the price tag

I am so pleased with the job that Carmichael fence did. Though I did get a lower estimate when I was initially exploring my options, it was obvious by their professionalism on the phone and in their written contract they were a much better choice. I am so glad that I did. Mr. Carmichael was on site throughout the project, and even rebuilt a gate that was not part of the project, at no extra charge, because he noticed that it was falling apart and he had the materials available. I plan to hire Carmichael Fence to replace the remainder of the fences on my property in the future, and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

I called 5-6 different fencing companies to get estimates over the phone and from the beginning of the conversation with Carmichael I knew I wanted to work with them. Talking to Holly is just wonderful, such great care and concern for getting the customer what they need. They were the second best priced and I was happy to give my business to such great people. Then I met Wally out at my house and was just as happy working with him, just a down to earth hard working good man. They installed my fence within a week of meeting Wally and I could not be happier with it, it looks great and best of all keeps my children safe. I would and have already recommended Carmichael to anyone needing a fence!

Carmichael installed one section of aluminum fence at our new home to tie in with existing neighbors' fences to fully enclose our back yard. Also two gates. They were first rate to deal with from start to finish. Very responsive to phone calls, quick to come out and quote, and only missed their installation date due to two days of rain. Price was comparable to another company, and much lower than Lowe's. It was a pleasure working with them.
We highly recommend for any fence job you need done.

Companies should always perform so excellently. As mentioned, from the appointment setting, start to finish, including permits they were responsible to being instructed to obtain our HOA approval , we now have the perfect fence we needed and wanted!! Even our HOA is happy with it. This was completed on time and on budget!

From our first Contact with Holly and Wally to the fence install, this was a top notch company to work with.Any concerns or adjustments were made promptly.Within 2 weeks from initial contact our fence was installed and looks great. The work was done on schedule as promised. Day 1 fence post were set, day 2 fence was up with Wally and his crew working in over 100 degree temps, day 3 any adjustments were made we felt were needed and area cleaned up. Now our grandchildren and dogs are safe and we could not be happier with the look of our fence. It is very nice to do bussiness with a company with such integrity who calls their customers back, is on schedule and does the job right the first time.

Holly came out to measure the fence after our first phone conversation, and sent a bid. We are on new construction, so we had to get developer to agree to the design. The developer had things he wanted to change, and the design was modified. Work was started on time and finished in a timely manner. The fence looks great! Would definitely use Carmichael Fence again.

The start was a little late, but once Wally and his crew arrived, everything went well. The fence was installed within 4 to 5 hours. The crew did not damage any plants in the garden and cleaned up well. The fence looks great. I highly recommend this company. Wally and his daughter Holly, who takes care of scheduling, are both top-line professionals.

I was very impressed that the owner came to my house for the estimate and did it in very short-order. Fence is very sturdy, looks great, and required no additional grief for me to complete with the company.

Being a home improvement contractor myself up in CT, I consider myself particularly fussy. After consulting with numerous companies, I decided on Carmichael. The responsiveness was unparalelled as was the willingness to accomadate me in a very narrow time frame. The installers as well as the office staff did an impeccable job. Professional, prompt, courteous, polite, hard working and sticklers for detail, every phase of this job went smooth as silk. I would highly recommend hiring this company to anyone considering this type of project. They even dug some holes for footings for my deck and refused to take money for it. Go with Carmichael!

I needed a small side yard fenced for my dogs. Holly returned my initial call within a few hours and helped me get a ballpark idea of what my cost would be, depending on the fence I went with. Wally then came out and measured the area, discussed with me what I needed and made a sketch of the yard. They called with in a day or two and emailed a copy of the estimate. After waiting for my HOA approval, the black aluminum fence was ordered and installed very quickly. As with the last time I had them install a fence, they were there when they said they would be, did a great job and went above and beyond what I expected. This is the second time I've used Carmichael's and would only use them for any fencing needs. I highly recommend them.

I wanted a custom fence built to separate my small side yard from my neighbor's drive way and to run on into my back yard. It was to provide privacy for myself and to provide a nice garden area on that side of my house. I also needed a better view from my windows on that side. At the same time, I did not want to build a fence that would appear offensive to my neighbors. I had had an architectural drawing done that wasn't exactly the right dimensions and I had a picture that was almost the fence I wanted except for the posts and the framing, but I had another picture of what I wanted for the posts and the framing. Armed with these items, I called Carmichael Fence after reading their reviews on Angie's list. I left a message and Holly called back and set up an appointment for me. Wally came out, on time, and looked at my drawing and pictures and told me he could give me the fence that I wanted. I believed him and hired him to build my fence. He and Alan gave me a fence that was even better than what I had imagined. It is a beautiful fence. The fence even looks the same on my neighbor's side as it does on my side because of the way they built the fence. The quality and craftsmanship is excellent. They took great care in making sure everything was right. I told Wally and Alan if there was a prettiest fence contest, mine would win. They did an incredible job of translating a drawing and a couple of pictures into a perfect fence. If I had another fence to build, I would definitely use Carmichael Fence.

Carmichael was the first of 3 companies to answer my inquiry phone call. The estimator was on time. He walked the fence line with me and checked for loose posts, in addition to the ones that were obviously leaning/falling over. He gave me a verbal estimate and said Holly (she seems to be the office manager/scheduler) would send me a confirmation estimate via email. It took a copule of days, but the estimate was received and it was $350 for all the work, exactly what the estimator had told me. I got a call from Holly that they could get to me the next day, otherwise it would not be until the week of 3/21. I called back to say I was waiting on another company's estimate, so I wouldn't be able to take the following day's slot on their schedule. A day or two later, I called back to let them know we'd selected them to do the work. Holly told me she'd have a better feel for the schedule on Monday, and would call me back then. I didn't hear from her, so I sent her an email Wednesday. She replied that she'd been out sick, but had us on the schedule for the week of 3/21. At some point, she called again and said they had an opening on the 11th. We left each other voicemail messages back and forth that day - I confirmed that the 11th would work, but I wouldn't be home in the morning. She said the workers would be there at 11, and if I couldn't be there then, to mark the posts I wanted replaced and cemented. I found that request odd, since the workers should be able to find the leaning/loose posts on their own. I did not mark the posts, but I left a note on the gate indicating that I would be home as soon as possible, and to please be careful of the area of freshly-seeded grass. I rushed home at 11:40 but no one was there. At 12:15, I called and left a message. About 10-15 minutes later, Holly called back and said that the workers had been called to an emergency, but they were on their way and would be there in 35-45 minutes. A fencing emergency?? The guys showed up and apologized, saying there apparently had been some miscommunication and they'd gotten a call telling them to hustle over to my address. They were nice, they were careful of the grass and other plants, and the work looked good. When finished, they said I could pay them then or, if I needed to, they could have Holly send me an invoice. I just wrote them a check and asked to have a receipt sent to me. They said Holly would take care of it. Again, I didn't hear from Holly, so I sent her an email. She responded and asked if I wanted it mailed or emailed. I wrote back and said email was fine. Finally got the receipt (scanned, crooked) yesterday. Their price was the best, but clearly professionalism is lacking. If I hired them again I would have low expectations for responsiveness.

The appointment was scheduled with no issues. Wally came out, I showed him pictures of what i wanted and we discussed the design, materials etc. I received a few quotes from other firms but chose Carmichael because Wally immediately understood my concept and his years of experience really showed. The job was scheduled for two weeks out. The team arrived as scheduled. I met Allen, the crew lead, at my home day one of the installation to review the design and answer questions. Two days later I had a beautiful new fence. I requested a few adjustments to the design of the gate and Carmichael came out again and made the changes with no problems. I was impressed with everyone on the team - Holly, Wally and Allen. The fence looks amazing and is very sturdy. This was the sort of experience I wish I had with all contractors. In fact, I wish they did more than fences because I would surely use them again!

Customer service was great. The cost was reasonable. Fence installation was quick and high quality.
