He had been in business for a number of years. He came to me highly recommended but, his communication was horrible through out the whole process. We missed some key elements that me as a consumer, I'm not construction savvy, and I wasn't aware of things that they should be asking. I by the time I asked they said it was too late. Then he built our deck with wood that warped really bad, he said that it wasn't treated but, he never told us to treat it. His communication was horrible but, the value of the job, I would not knock him on the value. His communication, end result, and I would not use him again. I would not recommend him because, even after I called him about the concerns with the wood, it was only 30 days after the job was finished. After he saw the pictures he wouldn't come out. He said that he would meet with rep that he got the wood from and call me back. He never called me back and he never showed up. The money that I paid, when I think about it, it makes me sick to my stomach. I would want the public to know to stay away from him. I think the price was OK, compared to everybody else, he was right in the ballpark. Based on the way that it ended, he wouldn't give me the common decency to come out and look at it and wouldn't sit down and talk to me face to face. He just wanted to talk to me over the phone and make false promises. It was more than just the wood, we asked him to put low heat windows in the sun room. He didn't do that, he said that he did but, he didn't. He never asked if we wanted it insulated which, we did, and of course it's not.

Brian and his crew were professional, timely and neat. They are perfectionist and were careful to do everything as it should be. I know this was a difficult job, as it was just as Meck. County started a new system and it required a lot of jumping through hoops on his part that had never existed before. He didn't complain, walked me through everything patiently, and performed the job better than expected. I do not have anyone come to my house that doesn't just stand there and say, "WOW". He worked with me to find the least expensive way to do some things, and I would highly recommend him. One thing I will say about Brian that is different is that he will not just arbitrarily quote something off the top of his head. If he is going to quote something, he is going to sit down and work through how much the actual cost is. I know this is difficult for some people, as they want to move quickly past that, but it does actually save a lot of disputes later on. I respect it. It requires patience, but you do not have the contractor coming back and giving you a bill that is not even close to what you thought it was going to be.

Wonderful. We were very satsified from our first meeting. We enjoy our pourch immensly. McCandless was very polite and cleaned up eavh day before leaving. They did what they said they would and told us what we discussed. Happy with the outcome.

Excellent experience from start to finish. We chose this contractor from a list of others after interviewing each firm. We felt comfortable that we were in skillful and trustful hands. The project was very large.

ORIGINAL REPORT IN MAY/98 WAS A POSTIVE, CHANGED TO A NEGATIVE 3/99 B/C WORK DIDN'T LAST, AND HE IS UNRESPONSIVE TO MEMBER'S CALLS.
