Mr. Upchurch came out and reviewed the work I needed done and the amount of money I had available, and he agreed to several renovations and repairs for the specified amount I had received from my insurance company. He began work around the end of May 23 and stated the job would take about 2 weeks to complete. Mr. Upchurch requested payment for materials and labor within the first 2 weeks of work, for which I paid and had him sign. He then stopped working on the house around June 15, after completing 1 1/2 of the 6 projects agreed upon. He removed my house keys from my property, kept them, and has not returned them, coming and going as he pleased until I changed the locks. He left a mess of materials both in my house and outside in my yard and refused to clean it up. He left bare or live wires hanging from my ceiling, roofing shingles off the roof, siding off the house where he enclosed a window and door, left drywall unfinished, and removed plumbing for the laundry room that was to be relocated and a bathroom installed in its place, but it was never completed, so now I have neither a laundry room nor a bathroom, just all the plumbing pipes left out on my deck. The work he did do is sub-par; the window he removed he used framing nails to complete instead of finishing nails, so the appearance is awful. The contractor repeatedly stated he would be back to finish the jobs, never showed up, and now will not return phone calls or texts. Now I have to sue in small claims court. If you hire him, get it in writing and do not pay until it is complete.

"As a contractor you will run into situations once in awhile that you know will not end in a good way. This is one of them and I'm not going to get drawn into this farce. Kim Hawks wanted all the work mentioned above to be done for 3,400 dollars. We are neighbors and I was trying to help her out. Anyone knows this amount of work cant be done for 3,400 dollars including labor and materials. Furthermore, she has not sued me or made any attempt to do so because she knows she is being totally irrational. I now have a lawsuit pending in Allegheny County against her. Kim Hawks informed me she was filing for bankruptcy and I thought it was not to my company's best interest to stay in this situation and lose any more money than what we had already lost. She still owes for materials and labor . She has also taken tools and materials that do not belong to her and refuses to return them. Henceforth the lawsuit against her. All I can say is look at the other reviews and that will speak for my company's reputation. YOU CANT MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY ALL THE TIME. THIS LADY IS NUTS. I'm not yelling with the caps, just making a statement."

Deck or Porch - Repair

$6,400
This work was started in Feb. 2018 and was completed in about 4 to 6 weeks. The contractor replaced 3 double windows and 2 single windows, along with outside framing work on a double door for my log cabin. The workmanship was excellent. The clean up was very good. My only issues are that my screens for the new windows have not been installed and the blinds for one set of double windows have not been put up. There is also one bag of of construction materials that have not been hauled away, along with a paint can. Although I have contacted the owner via text and email, I have as yet only had a couple of text messages stating he would come and then he does not come. I have paid him in full and iit is now the end of September. I am hoping he comes before October 4 when I have to leave my log cabin.

We had purchased a foreclosed home, and he was instrumental working with my husband to get the home rehabilitated. He is detail oriented and was there everyday! Showed up when he said he was going to be there and took pride in his work! He was pleasant to work with and we would definitely refer him to others!

"This project was an extremely demanding remodel to a home approximately 90 years old. My company installed and finished an estimated 100 sheets of drywall, installed new windows through out the home. Several of the window openings had to be completely tore out and new framing installed in order to set the new windows. We also converted a laundry room into a new master bath. this involved totally gutting the laundry room and starting from the framing in order to complete this project."
