He was recommended to me by my plumber. Chris is wonderful and we have become good friends. This had to happen over the course of two seasons because the wood had to cure before it could be painted. His painter painted the whole porch, floors and walls. There is also an extension for the grill. He painted all of the fences and 12x12 shed to match. Chris ordered screens from another provider and installed them himself. He installed a door on the porch and other small things. It's funny, if I find something I want and find it, he will come and meet me and follow me home. He is just a great guy. I really trust him. He is the kind of person who isn't just in this to make money. He cares about his work. If there is something like a rotten piece of wood somewhere that you want to replace, if he has to tear out a lot of stuff to do that, and it will cost a fortune, he will tell you it's not worth doing. I have a tiny bit of water damage on my bedroom ceiling that happened a few years ago, and I asked about repairing it. He said he would have to tear my whole bedroom apart and said he would do it when I'm ready to move.

They did a great job and for a very good price (in my opinion).

I can not say enough good things about Chris and his crew. Chris is incredibly honest and reliable, and even offered to teach us how to do the work ourselves to save us some money. His quote was fair and dead on, his workmanship was second to none. Given the wet weather the week he was doing the work, the drywall mud took a lot longer to dry than he had anticipated, but he came back several times to make sure it dried perfectly and was ready for sanding. They cleaned up all the dust and the wall and ceiling look fantastic. Plus, Chris helped with a couple little "honey do" items that were waiting to be done. I would definitely recommend Winpigler, we will be using them again for sure.

Chris not only did the job well, he made sure I understood the problems he encountered once he opened up the wall and gave me options on how to repair it.  

He also gave me options on where to relocate my dryer and its vent.  He came up with a much better location.

Chris did a great job. He returned my call promptly and showed up exactly when he said he would.  He looked at the part of my garage ceiling which had (for some unknown reason) completely fallen down. He offered several solutions and set up a time to return to do the work.  The work was well done and the ceiling looks great. I'm glad to know that its up securely now.  Chris was very professional, prompt and did a great job.  He even took the time to look at a water leak I have in a spare bedroom and offered suggestions.  I will definitely hire him to do this work as well.

Chris was fantastic. Very competitive bid, easy too work with and very flexible. The quality of the work was great. I trust him and his sub contractors and I will definitely use him again. Highly recommended!

We first hired Chris back in 2003 or thereabouts, to do exterior painting and some interior work for us, upon the recommendation of a friend.  We were so happy with his work that we hired him to do more work for us when we moved back into the DC area about 3 years ago.  At that time he did a new kitchen, complete remodeling of 3 bathrooms, interior painting, and exterior painting, including the replacement of some windows. The work was professionally done and played a large part in the sale of that home a year later in just one weekend.  We have just had him do some interior painting in our latest home, and again are extremely happy with the results.  He is easy to work with and very professional - a truly nice man, as are the people who work for him.   I read through some of the previous reviews and have a hard time equating them with Chris - arrogant is the last word I would use to describe him.  This man is honest and hard working, and I would be happy to attest to that for anyone thinking about hiring him.

Very punctual, friendly, and professional.  Estimate was by far the cheapest of all the other contractors, and it was also very high quality.  Representative was accommodating to our work schedule and completed the work quickly.  Highly recommend!

We have used Chris & his crew several times before on small jobs, but went with them for our full kitchen remodel. These guys are great... worked with our designer & various vendors and have done a GREAT job installing tile, cabinets, painting, and more. What a great transformation!

Overall was a great experience.  Chris, his son and the rest of his team were great.  The project did take a little longer than expected but mainly due to weather, holidays and some changes with designs.  The whole thing went smoothly with Chris going above and beyond to assure everything was completed as requested.  He even went out of his way to find a matching threshold to match a project completed 2 years ago.  The job was completed and perfect.  My wife and I could not have asked for a better experience.

Chris and his son Mike did a beautiful job with our new tile floor. They suggested a couple of tile shops and we were able to pick out exactly what we wanted. They removed the old underlayment and put in new wood and then the appropriate materials on top of that and installed porcelain tile. We chose a 2-inch mosaic and they rearranged individual tiles to please us. They sealed it to help keep the grout clean.
They also made us a custom threshold to replace the crummy metal one that had been there. This is our powder room, the "company" bathroom, and we want it to look really nice. The floor is beautiful.
Chris and Mike at all times were clean, respectful, and kept a tidy job site. They cleaned up after themselves and were total professionals. They were on time and kept in touch (the weather was an issue) so we could plan for their being here.
We've spent the last year-plus remodeling our home. We have had many different contractors through. Two or three stand out as being far and above the rest, Winpigler Contracting is one of them. We would not hesitate to hire them again if/when we need more work done.

I contacted 4 different well-rated contractors about having my bathroom remodeled. Chris was actually the only one that returned my call. He came by and checked out the bathroom and we went over what I wanted done. Within a couple of days he sent me an estimate to have the work done. He had an electrician and plumber he works with that charged separately for their services. I went ahead and purchased all of the hardware and fixtures ahead of time. After I had all of the needed items we agreed on a start date. He was always there when he said he would be and a pleasure to deal with. He replaced the old one sink vanity with a new double sink vanity. He also replace the tub, shower tile, and floor tile. He also took care of disposing of all the old items. Chris, and his assistant do top notch work. They take their time and make sure you are happy with the result. They are also friendly, courteous and always professional. The plumber he works with, James Mattee did the plumbing work. He added the new pipes for the double sink, installed the new toilet, and put in all new fixtures. He also did a great job. The electrical was done by Barclay Electric. This is another contractor that does work for Chris. He installed new wall wiring boxes for my new light fixtures. Great job there also. It took about 10 days to complete the job. I did the painting myself at night and also hung the light fixtures, mirrors and towel hooks. Chris actually came in under his estimate. For the quality of work he does, his cost is more than reasonable. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Everything went great. When I wanted these jobs done, I contacted Chris Winpigler, and he responded within a day regarding the timeframe in which they could do them. He was especially willing to accommodate my needs?an example is that he painted and installed the floor in my daughter's new bedroom even though he was busy with another job, because he said she had to have a room to come home to at the end of spring semester. We arranged that he would put in her closet when she went back to school for some summer classes, which worked fine for all of us.
We did the upstairs bedrooms and closets in the first instance, the rest of the repairing and painting in the second instance, and the construction of the final closet in the final instance. Each time, Chris worked with me to find a time when they could do the job, and they always stuck to what they promised. When they began a job, he would let me know which days of the week and for how long he and/or his son and his painter would be at our house and what time they would arrive and leave, and they were always on time. And he would repeat this every Sunday evening, so there was never any question about who was coming when.
Chris was always very interested in doing things the way we wanted them?whether it was the exact measurement of a bedroom closet we divided in half in order to give the other half to a bathroom or to whether we wanted an extra coat of paint on the wainscot. He always let us know how costly different options were, so that we could make decisions that allowed us to stay within our budget. He didn't give up on things that didn't work the first time: the hinge on one of the closet doors hadn't been made correctly, but after several attempts, he got that door to close properly. And he did a lot of small things?but they meant a lot to me?that he didn't charge us for, such as putting up a set of hooks after he had given us our bill. He and his "crew" also helped in ways I would never expect a contractor to help?such as moving heavy furniture up and down stairs and taking off a stairlift we had used for my father and putting the parts carefully in the basement. Having any of them in our home has become like having family.
Needless to say, the work was always done extremely well, and in a way that showed that they really cared?down to the smallest detail, like closing the freshly painted fireplace netting perfectly.
I will definitely have them back again for our next project.

Great company to hire. Chris was very honest and gave a fair price. Both he and his workers were very professional and did a great job of painting and they took the time to clean up after the job was completed! Look forward to working with them again in the near future!

Winpigler Contracting responding quickly to my request for an estimate which for me was a plus. Other contractors took their good old time getting back to me and were slow to respond to my questions.
Chris and crew arrived on time and started work right away. Work was performed right and all our personal belongings were protected with plastic or tarps. I was charged $45.00 per hour, per man.Job took approx. two days. I was happy with the work done but would like to remind people if they are going to use satin paint or semi-gloss paint be prepared for 2 or 3 coats being needed to be applied.
I would not hesitate to use this contractor again.

Crew had excellent work ethics, wasted no time, cleaned up after themselves, and completed all tasks on schedule.

He did a great job.  He came, gave me an estimate, and showed me some sample colors.  I actually chose my own color from somewhere else and he was able to get that color for me.  He cleaned up and everything was great.  He made it from a very dark maroon to a very soft yellow, so that was the trick about painting it.  It was not just a simple block of some painting.  He had to cover that dark color and then put on the light color.

Chris and his crew have been a pleasure to work with on all projects, providing consistently professional work at fair prices.  Communication has been excellent and he is always true to his word.  We are very happy with the work he has done for us over the years and will be using him again for the second phase of our home renovations.

Found Chris on Angie's list.  Called for an estimate and got a response immediately.  I had gotten an estimate from another interior painter, so I had an idea of what it would cost.
First, Chris wanted to come out and see the job first hand, which I appreciated.  He arrived on time, and gave recommendations to the color and type of paint that would work best.
Chris' price was almost half of what other company had quoted me.  He had great ratings, so I scheduled him immediately.
The day before the painting began, my husband had a question - but it was a Sunday.  I was surprised when Chris answered his cell phone!
The painters arrived right on time, even though there had been bad weather slowing down traffic everywhere.  They got right to work, and had the job done quicker than expected.  They were very professional, and did a great job.
I would hire them back in a heartbeat!  Great to work with.
