Clear Choice Property Service

Our rental agent hired Clear Choice to replace a degraded stair railing on our rental property. Within a few months , a large amount of sap has oozed from a knot at the top of the railing, coating it and rendering the railing virtually useless (unless you wanted to spend several minutes cleaning sap off your hand). It is such a large amount of sap and it is very difficult to remove completely and has required more than one "clean up". Mr. Ellison was contacted and he was not willing to replace the wood unless we paid him again. His response: " I have installed several, as in hundreds, of handrails that have knots in them that did not sap like this. TheLumber that was purchased for that job was premium lumber. This means it is a little more expensive and has less knots. I’m sure you could go to any house and look at the decking and find knots, it just so happens this one had a lot of sap in it." The problem with the railing separating from the 4 x4 was passed off as " the original builder did not cut the correct angle".
