HARVEL CONSTRUCTION INC

Mr. John Harvel was a nice guy hands down, but the lack of communication & price was a little un-settling.  We asked for black cable railings upstairs, and for some of our personal railings that we inherited to be installed on the lower portion of the stairs.
We asked if this was possible, he said yes, and so he sent in a subcontrator.
Well, when we got to the house our personal railings just did not look right, So we called Mr. Harvel more than 4times left him a voicemail & emailed him not to continue installing the perosnal railings.  He never returned our phone call, or emailed us back.  When I came home the following day, the subcontractor installed the rest of our personal railings......
 (This could have been avoided if he communicated with us)
Next, the subcontractors came with silver cable railings.....We were like what? Did we not tell Mr. Harvel that we wanted Black?
We DID!  I asked the subs, if Mr. Harvel did not specify black, and they said no.
Well, I went ahead and permitted them to install the silver ones (I ended up volunterring to spray paint them black).
I don't have a problem with the bottom cable railings, but my husband does....There are loose.  I know for a fact that the (subcontractors) Bronzies did the best they could do.  They were great, but my husband was disatified with the price. 
-We had to spray paint the cable railings.
-We have loose cable railings
-Labor charges could have been prevented if Mr. Harvel would have told the subcontractors that we did not want the rest of our personal railings installed.
All in all, Mr. Harvel lacks communication skills with the subcontractors.
The price just does not match the work, I will be cutting him a check today and mailing it to him tomorrow.
