Roofing
He promised a 10 year warranty. The roof has subsequently leaked. I have attempted to contact him and all of his numbers are disconnected. I assume he is out of business.

Initial meeting and presentation by Mr. Taylor was good. The company had performed some minor repair work a couple of years ago and had been referred by a friend. His price was good but the recommended roof shingle manufacturer was inferior based upon an internet search. We discussed other brands and color options. He suggested that we go to the local distribution company and pick our color and brand. We settled on an alternate brand and listed the name and color in the signed contract. He asked for and received a 50% downpayment upon signing. Mr. Taylor said he would get back to me for a start date. I had to call him back to pick a date. He was then going to have the shingles delivered by an identified date. No shingles arrived and I had to call him. He then said his crew would begin on Labor Day. I stayed home that day only to have him come in the morning, park his truck with shingles in my driveway and tell me they would begin the next day. They arrive and completed the work over the next 2-1/2 days. Near the end of the first work day, I saw a shingle wrapper and it was not the brand that we had agreed to use. The distributor did not have sufficient stock in the requested brand so Mr. Taylor made a substitution to a lower cost brand without requesting our permission. When confronted with the switch, Mr. Taylor was unwilling to make amends for the switch. After two days of discussion, he finally made a $150 price adjustment for the switch. My impression is that he would not have made the consession if I had not persisted. Final payment was made upon completion of the work. Mr. Taylor did not seem to recognize the distrust he created and wondering regarding other possible short cuts he may have used. As a complement to his employees, they arrived promptly each morning, worked hard each day, were courteous and friendly, and cleaned up the work site at the end of each day.

Gutter Repair and Replacement
Work was done on in a timely manner at first, but forgot to install drip edge. Said drip edge was not installed, because gutters was on the edge. Neglected to inform me this would be a problem when contract was signed. Roof installed in 2004, They returned in April 2006 and tore down gutters in order to install drip edge, after many phone calls. I now have to pay another company to replace gutters and guards. Not sure if wood decking under roof was repaired because it is now slanted in spots.
