Ritchie returned my call within a few hours. He wasn't able to come for several days. Once he came, he and his partner identified the source of the leak as the spa return line - then they isolated the pool and drained the spa so that it would stop leaking water (we were putting about an inch of water in the pool every day). Since it was underground, we needed to hire someone else to repair the leak. Ritchie returned several times to help the repair company find the exact location of the problem. As I understand it, because the leak had been going on for quite some time - and the ground was completely saturated due to the leak - they weren't able to mark an exact spot where leak was located. Although I thought the initial bill of $400 plus $45 mileage was high - he returned 3 times and did not charge me anything extra. I was irritated by the mileage charge. We live and quot;insideand quot; 51 - and not really far from his home base. I did not get a price upfront which was a mistake. I would definitely ask for a price before having them come. Both Ritchie and the partner were very personable and professional.

They responded to our call promptly within a few days. They were very professional and thorough. Unfortunately, the leak was on a seam and Ritchie informed us they would try their best to patch it but couldn't guarantee the seam wouldn't continue to open... "like a zipper". Ritchie even called twice in the next week or so to check on their work. The patch seemed to hold for a couple weeks but then did continue to rip, as we were warned. Carolina Leak Stoppers came out a second time and put on another patch which appears to be holding. We were pleasantly surprised that they did not charge us for the second visit since the first patch couldn't be guaranteed. We would certainly contact them again if the need arises and recommend them highly.
