yrs, however it was not checked at this time due to the water being
turned off to the house. It required a 2nd visit and another charge for
the water to be checked at a later date. It seems the inspector would
have had better communication with the realtors involved on the water
being on by the date the inspection was to take place. What we found
when we arrived at our newly purchased home was no hot water and a
filter installed incorrectly thus allowing sediment to come through the
pipes and hinder water flow. A plumber had been called out and paid to
changed the filter, as per recommendation of the inspector. It would
seem if this was rechecked by the inspector on his 2nd visit, he would
have seen an upside down filter. Also, if the hot water heater had been
checked, then we wouldn't have went 3 days upon arriving trying to get
it fixed. Both heating elements needed to be replaced.
Also, the
inspection report noted one area as having water damage from a previous
roofing problem. We easily found several places with evidence of
water damage once we were inside the home. And this being a log home,
it was easy to see the wood effected and there were several areas that
may have mold from the water damage. This is exactly the info we needed
to know before the closing, not after, and the reason we hired the
inspector in the first place. Since there was previous water damage, it
would seem extra attention would be given to check for the possibilities
of problems. It's very frustrating to find problems waiting when you
thought you had the bases covered.
"Customer, You have been misinformed at the least lied to at the worst. We can not perform inspections without calling and comminicating with the realtors. The date and time is verified with them and coordinated with the termite inspector to meet at the same time. Our questionaire to them when we contact them is that all utilities are on and in working order for the date and time of the appointment. I did the inspection on the date and time confirmed with them. Noted the water problems and from experience knew it was a clogged filter. I recommended a plumber be called to get it working and inspect for other problems. There will obviously be an additional charge for another trip to verify the water was flowing. This is a set $75.00 fee that it was my understanding you did not pay, but the realtor who made the mistake. The amount of sidment in the water was a concern to me and can cause water heaters to fail quickly. I am sorry you had problems with the house. I would so much have rather had a quick phone call from you to try and work these details out than to find out about them for the first time here. The problem with technology is we can complain quickly to everyone and the thousands of well satisfied customers are never heard from."
"I thank Member for her critique of our work and as she said all work was made good, by me, in person. A company is only as good as his poorest employee, and a warranty is only as good as the man giving it. As always our work is completely warranted and we returned and gave every effort to provide her with a quality job. It was unfortunate, but resolved."
