Jewelry Sales/Design/Repair
Had used this jewelry store several times in past for minor repairs and services, with satisfactory outcome. On this particular occasion, one of the services I requested was to have a Lucien Piccard leather band that I owned (but was currently not using) put onto another watch I had purchased (that came with a band that was too long for my wrist). When the watch was delivered to me following band replacement, I was unable to ascertain damage to the replacement band, since the damaged portion had been tucked tightly beneath the bezel.
However, upon returning to my car and closely inspecting the work, I saw that the Lucien Piccard replacement band had been badly marred. I immediately went back into the store and confronted the jeweler. He claimed he had not caused the damage. He stated, ?I swear to God I did not do it.? He went on to say that it was an expensive band, and that he almost said something when he observed the damage (during switch of band) but declined to do so because he assumed I had caused the damage. NOTE: It was at this jewelry store that the band in question was removed for replacement with a gold-plated band that I purchased from that store?involving services of another jeweler.
Seeing that this particular jeweler (name withheld) was not going to admit responsibility, I simply asked that the original band be returned to the watch. I didn?t foresee any advantage in trying to pursue the matter further. Also I was busy preparing for vacation out-of-country. Needless to say, I will not use this jewelry facility again.
