"This was an insurance job where water damage was involved. The homeowner was going to need all new kitchen cabinets as well as hardwood flooring. Before any demolition was done, the homeowner informed us that he had never liked the layout of the original kitchen and wished to redesign the cabinets in order to change the flow of the kitchen. He also requested that we price additional changes for him that were not related to the water damage and would not be covered by insurance. We accommodated him by giving him prices of the work he wanted as well as directing him to our cabinet subcontractor to pick out the cabinets he wanted and have new drawings for the changes he was requesting. After the initial sets of drawings were complete, the homeowner made changes and it had to be drawn again. He repeated this process several times and was unhappy when he had to wait for the new drawings to be done. We directed him to another cabinet subcontractor where he did the same thing – repeatedly changing his mind and becoming frustrated when they weren’t finished. He was very indecisive about exactly what it was he wanted which led to numerous delays. We were anxious to begin this job and we spoke with the homeowner on a daily basis as well as followed up with the cabinet subcontractor. The hardwood flooring was not installed but was ordered and ready to be picked up. To date, the homeowner has failed to pay for any of the work that was completed and has not paid for the flooring that was ordered upon his request. Unfortunately, we had to vacate the job."
