Bushwackers was originally referred to me to build a retaining wall as part of my pool project. Their communication was poor from the start and managed with almost no clear direction, like I was not their customer, but the pool company was. The did an adequate job of building my wall, but talked me into waiting until the pool build was over to finish their work. I made a poor decision to add to the original work and work on drainage, landscaping related to the overall back yard. After complaining to the owner (Chad) of the lack of communication and scope agreement made, he assured me that they wanted my business and would give full attention to the project completion. Brandon was the PM and never actually showed up again when his team came to do the work and all of the things I needed done were not done correctly. They demo'd existing grass by just using a weed Wacker (now grass has grown back through mulch) never laid down the 7 yards of soil requested and just threw mulch on top of the shoddy demo. I also asked for a 50 gallon drainage tank that they charged me for, but dug a small hole and filled it in with rocks. After cutting my cable line as there was no notice of when they were going to show up to even call 811, the only contact was from the saleman to let me know they forgot to charge me for some grading that I had already paid for on the first phase of the project. I let them know at that point to not bother coming back and went to another company to fix and perform their poor work. The actual work done by the team was not terrible, but the lack of any communication and complete lack of customer service is Why I wholeheartedly do not recommend anyone else go through this stress wondering if the job would get done right. Save your time and overpriced services and use another company!

They did a great job! They promised to have my yard looking good by July 4th. Everyone that has been to my house has raved over the wonderful job that they did. They are very busy but they addressed all of my questions and concerns throughout the process promptly. I am very please with this company and I plan to hire them in the fall for my front yard!

My husband and I started the design process with Chad and their Designer, Nathalie Baird, last year. After some consultation with Nathalie, she drew up some designs for us that included all the scope of services above and she designed us our dream backyard complete with a  pool to be outsourced to another pool company. My husband and I were initially excited to work with Nathalie, but we were worried about the cost of the project that Nathalie designed for us.  It took 9 months of back and forth to get to the scope of design we wanted to a price we needed to stay within our budget. My husband and I had serious concerns over that span of time because Nathalie was not reliable with deliverables, was unresponsive, and when we asked her to make changes to the design it would take her weeks of us prodding her to get her to provide the updated design and pricing. Even after weeks of waiting, sometimes they would still not be what we asked her. Additionally, Nathalie was unprofessional. We had already gone way out of our budget with what we wanted to spend, especially adding in a pool, so we were trying to find ways to cut some of the cost. While she would work with us on that respect, she would continually make jokes that we were being cheap. After the first time, it wasn't funny anymore and was insulting given the cost of the project.

My husband emailed her and Chad prior to us hiring them to doing the work about his concerns that she was not reliable. Chad, the owner, assured us that they wanted our business and met with us to try and alleviate our concerns. He also relooked at the pricing at that time to make sure everything was in order. After 9-10 months of back and forth, we signed a contract with Chad and his team to begin the work. We went with Bushwackers still after all of this because they were competitively priced (around the same price as other vendors). But we should have known better.

Everything was line to start the project with Bushwackers mid March after the pool was poured. We had asked Nathalie repeatedly to send over the stone samples for the hardscaping we selected to ensure we liked our color selection. Still, we had to ask her for weeks to send it over. We were actually looking forward to moving forward with the project manager instead of her because she was so unreliable. We talked with Chad a few times and everything was in line to start. 2 weeks ago they scheduled to start the grading and we gave them the go ahead on the stone selections. Chad called my husband the Monday they started grading and said there was an issue with the stone selection and that he was trying to get more information. That Wednesday he called my husband and said the stone prices went up and that the cost was going up $30,000! My husband voiced that there is no way that we were going to pay that much additional and to please come over so we can discuss in person and find an alternative solution. At that time, Chad told my husband that he would lose money on the job if they continued. However, they both agreed that they should meet in person and discuss. The next day, a truck came and pulled the equipment off our property. After they already dug a huge hole and removed some of our landscaping. My husband called Chad 2 times and sent a text. Chad has never called us back and has become a ghost since then. Now, our dreams of having our landscaping complete this summer is down the drain.

Since his call with Chad, my husband also called the stone yard to see if our selections went up in price and they said they did not and the prices for our selections actually went down. My husband also measured the property again and compared it to the scope of the services in our contract and they were in line. There is absolutely no way that the cost went up $30,000. My husband verbalized to him in the text that he doesn't see the discrepancy in the cost and would like to discuss it. He also told him to please give him the consideration of calling us back. Yet, Chad has still not called back.

To say I am so angry is such an understatement. This is the most unprofessional company and they are liars as well. They call themselves Christian-owned, but it's obviously just a marketing gimmick. To not even give your clients the consideration of calling them back and instead leaving their yard completely destroyed is so unprofessional. These people should and will be reported to the Better Business Bureau. This was the biggest waste of our year of our life. Please do yourself the service of not ever hiring these people. My husband could have had this complete by himself by now if we had the equipment.

End results were quite good but did have two issues. First the firm was not responsive in a timely manner when we needed the work done. Never knew when they would appear to do the work. Second all the new plants were guaranteed. However, at least six small shrubs died over the winter and we could never get the company to come and replace them. We ended up doing it ourselves so that the front yard would look better. This second issue is why we would probably not use them again.

They did a good job. They were very competitive with their quote. When I tried to call them and followed up, I couldn't get them to commit when to do the work.
